Why worry about the Bears(outside of #1 seed competition) right now when we may not even see them this season?
But someone said it on twitter yesterday and I agree. Bears taking it to Seattle like that after they got back their RBs and brought in Quenton Nelson could be the best thing to happen to the 49ers.
We'll see how they respond on the field and potentially off of it with trades. Kyle tends to rise up to the challenge of going up against other top offensive minds in the game. I think seeing how good Chicago is and what Ben Johnson is doing there with Williams will bring out the best in Kyle.
I still believe we're the best team in football when healthy. Just have to get our guys back and stay healthy. Bears have a lot of talent but also health right now. Went into that game last night with 2 injuries of worth and they're both 2nd string players. Good players but still 2nd stringers.
IF we have to play Chicago I think we can hang with them. Simmons is a game changer for them for sure and they may not be done adding(we shouldn't be either) but Seattle is a 1 man offense and they still struggled to stop JSN. If we have our WRs healthy we'll see a similar game to last season with each squad having more stops on D but the offenses will still show up.
Love the optimism but the last three games give me pause. Sloppy, erratic play, defensive meltdowns and an offensive that seems to go to sleep in the second half. No way that version of the team beats the bears or even the raiders. Injuries are a big part of it but so are mistakes and turnovers. That s**t needs to end.
Injuries can play a part in sloppy play.
Good example is Purdy in the Commanders game trying to hit Cooks, but Cooks doesn't know the details of the route/play design, timing is off, and has to slow down to not run into Kittle. Cooks hasn't crossed to where he needs to be, Purdy has nowhere to go with the ball and takes a sack. If one of our other WR's who went through training camp with us runs that route, that's a big explosive play on a crosser.
Everyone's saying it: we need to get healthy... but we also need to stay healthy. The offense is so predicated on execution and timing. When we're cycling through different players, it makes it so hard on Purdy because he can't make his throws on time. Sure, he makes a lot of offschedule plays, but he can't do that every play.
