49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan Thread

kyle is so locked he doesn't even know he's in australia he said coaches don't get days off so he hasn't seen jack just the prax field and the inside of the hotel,

I give MacDonald a lot more credit because he took over a mid level team in Seattle and worked with his GM to get the pieces he wanted in place and coached up a storm. Ben Johnson has to show more than a quick turnaround with a #1 overall QB.

Fire KS and bring in who??? Would be another 3 HC in 3 years scenario?

It is perfectly fine to criticize Kyle, I do it all the time. But to believe that he should/could be easily replaced is delusional at best.

And I have no issues with people criticizing Kyle. I may not always agree with your criticism but that's the way it should be. As long as we're discussing actual decisions and not hypotheticals like "he'll never win one" then it's part of being a forum. We're all fans for the most part here. In the end we all want the team to win a SB.

Now if you magically could guarantee me that Coach X takes over for Kyle and we win a Lombardi then I'd pack Kyle's stuff myself. But that's not the world we live in and as of right now I believe Kyle still gives this team the best chance to win a SB than someone else.

I think we forget about his lineage to the team. His dad was Steve Young's OC when we won our 5th Super Bowl, how good would it be to see KS win a SB ring here with us?

Ups & downs are a part of it, but I think we would be hard pressed to find another good HC. I would keep KS like the Steelers keep their guys.

With that said I think criticism is completely fine, but like you said it has to make sense.

However, when do fanatics make sense???

While MacDonald was a good D Coordinator who had Kyle's number, we will see how they do this year since they lost
a) their RB
b) O-coordinator

Sometimes a good coordinator does not make a good HC.

Also, how the ball bounces, what would have happened if Dre did not get hurt in the SB against KC, it wasn't till he got hurt that they manage to make that comeback if I recall correctly.

Look around - a lot of SB's like that, lot playoff games like that. Just the way the ball bounces sometimes. Kyle and coaches put the players in a position to win.

Shanahan isn't perfect. But if we fire him, well...welcome back to the 2014-2016 years. Actually, it kight be back to the 04-2010 years.

OT: If I could go back in time, the Royals win that would series vs the Giants. And the 49ers beat the Chiefs twice in the Super Bowl. That is a trade I make every single time.

I don't know how long Darnold will be out. It sounds like they dodged the worst bullet so I doubt it will be long and their schedule is pretty favorable for the next 2.5 weeks.

Regardless of how they do I have to give Macdonald a ton of respect. That defense of his is LEGIT. I feel dumb for ever doubting it. Was hoping they were feeding off bad competition and clearly I was a dumbass. They tackle SO well. They don't give anything easy to QBs it's a grind all game long. And one of their best players didn't even play. Yikes...

They're built to win games with mid level QBs though they definitely should've lost that game last night. Pats and Maye completely gave it away...just insane decision making across the board in the 2nd half. From leaving JSN wide open on 4th and 1 to Maye's interceptions including the last one.

I'm excited to see what team we have tonight. We get the SB favorite out of the gate. Donald or no Donald they're a serious problem on both sides of the ball so you can't ask for a better test out of the gate than them.

I hope Kyle has a great plan for this one as does Raheem. Here's hoping our guys stay healthy and show what they can do and we go into week 2 tied with Seattle.

Andy has also won more SBs since he left than the Eagles have.

9ers don't have Howie Roseman to build good enough teams to win a SB despite the coaching.

A mid to bottom tiered QB, no WRs, no RB avg Defense nearly beat Seattle at home.

Did they enjoy the Chip Kelly years?

Chiefs went 50 years without a SB until Andy Reid showed up.

gotta say shanahan vs mcvay is an all time mt rushmore style coaching matchup this is my favorite game or two games of the year in this case
