49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan Thread

nothing weird is going on, other than coach doesn't break his face every day, that's certainly not normal, but accidents happen all the time. keep your phone in your pocket. coach found out the hard way. i hear he's doing well all things considered and the plastic surgeon did a number. he's got a good run time to heal up. imagine this was mid week or late season it would impact the club a lot more from a football standpoint. this is prolly the best time of year if something like this had to happen, football is the least of the worries when it's real life stuff, but this is a football forum so i mention those points

It's not normal behavior and the situation is getting picked apart for good reason

i think they handled it normal, team gave coach his privacy and grace in a time of healing

He gets that either way lol. People would just be worried for him and wish him a quick recovery. Why wait 11 days and open this can of worms?

I don't understand why it's a can of worms. People get in accidents every day. Even if they say at the moment of the crash it won't stop the stupid. People will still be saying how is the treatment going? Why is the team silent on minute by minute updates? What is going on? And so forth. There's so much stupid out there, nothing the team can do can contain it all. But that's not on the team.

They handled this wrong if they thought this wouldn't open a can of worms. People get in car accidents all the time like you said, there's no reason to try so hard to keep this story from getting out

You say they tried hard to keep this story from getting out. Where did you get that information?

Give me that ONE reason the team should've released the story right away that's not "so it doesn't look weird"

You ever been in a car accident before? This whole notion that there is a cover up is so stupid it's laughable to see people going that route. Just totally telling the world they turned off their brain just to make this into something it's not.

Yes the 49ers used all their might to cover this up so Kyle Shanahan's insurance premiums didn't go up?

Give me one good reason to have Kyle randomly show up all battered and bruised and then have to explain it from there? Why do that to yourselves? That is weird as f**k lol and it just gets weirder with everybody involve being so hush about it, except Kyle who's basically been allowed to correct the police report and narrate what happened. Really strange situation

You kinda have to piece all this together yourself since all we have otherwise is Shanahans word. If you want to take his word as fact then have at it

Notice how you didn't answer the question?

I already told you why. It allows Kyle to concentrate on healing without having to deal with media coming after him. It gives them more time to find out all the facts and it gives them time to make proper plans in case Kyle isn't around. All these answers they had available at the start of training camp. They would not have them right after the accident. Kyle also wasn't correcting the police report. The police report was accurate. Maybe learn the facts before you come in here claiming this is weird as f**k...

Now give me your answer to my question.

Not so weird. Respect Kyle's privacy. Didn't know it was a big problem until concussion didn't subside as fast as expected.

lol that's bs people are only going after him because of how secretive they've been about this

The obvious reason is so they don't have deal with what they are dealing with now. There was no reason to keep it a secret. I hope Shanahan got a bunch of healing those 11 days, because now he's dealing with way worse than he ever would have

What's way worse? A few people trying to stir up things on Twitter doesn't matter. The story is pretty much dead.

They stirred up the controversy themselves. Let the fans know their coach was injured but will be fine, or wait until he shows up with broken face and bones and deal with this mess. If there is truly no wrongdoing, then they handled the situation wrong

why not give the team some grace? this team is led by kyle. he sets this whole thing in motion in terms of players and staff we have. guy was in a serious wreck. naturally that's gonna effect the response, team needs time to sort out the info as it evolves, it's a fluid situation is it not, in terms of who will handle what, and what his status is. why can't it simply be they wanted to get their ducks in a row so they have something to say that is factual vs some nefarious cover up what exactly would they even be covering up? not all situations require the tin foil hat. sometimes an accident is an accident

Who gives a f**king s**t man? Give it a rest. And you don't know that, may have been worse for him and the other driver if it came out sooner. You don't know the details. Give this up man.

Explain how it could be worse lol. The lack of transparency is what's making this into a story

Ppl whining need to get a life. It's like what would they do in the same situation and I mean, really? "No respect, I tell ya, no respect!".

What ducks do you need to get in a row to let people know coach was injured but is fine and recovering? You won't know what they were covering up because the cover up seems to have been done already in those 11 days. The only part of the story that they messed up was the "clerical error", but other than that yea you're right seems like they needed time to get their ducks in order
