The problem with that is you can't give players crap for freelancing when doing so gives up big plays - which btw is typically what happens when guys don't do their job and "try to make a play"
We literally had that in several guys in that SB who cost us the game more than Bosa's inability to make a tough play on 4th and 1 vs one of the best QBs in the sport.
You had Burford "going with his gut" and not doing what his responsibility is on the play and blowing our opportunity to go up by a TD in OT.
You had McCloud "trying to make a play" and allowing KC to get possession of the football inside our 20 yard line instantly flipping momentum and totally changing that game.
This is the Kyle Shanahan thread and you and others have no problem blaming him for things he shouldn't even get blame for and yet here we are where a player does his job that he's coached to do and you have a problem there too.
Pick a lane.
Great players have the instinct to go off script. Burford doesn't change that. Didn't you watch guys like Polamalu? Sorry if I'd like to see the dpoy show that kind of greatness on a big play
You're exposing yourself like a casual here. Troy played within the scheme, he's a safety. That position has a lot more room to roam and make plays. If you get your DLmen doing their own thing that's how you get huge plays in the run game. They have to play within the scheme or it will be a disaster.
Like I said you're all over the place. Either it was a magical play that Andy dialed up for a key moment or Bosa somehow didn't blow it up.
You want to bring up Romo's comments...how about the DC not relaying that to his defense? Stick with Mahomes. Go back and watch the other run plays on that drive...though that would require you to actually pay attention to the details.
