the defense kept KC in check the entire game. Kyle rested the defense after a long drive by KC late in the 4th. Wills then decided to play prevent defense in OT and that was that
It is statistically the wrong decision before the outcome of the game is even decided. The team can still bail their coach out, but it's the wrong decision
You act like analytics had it 90 to 10 to take the ball 2nd. It's 50/50 and fractions of the point actually in FAVOR of taking the ball first.
Kyle used information from that actual game to make the call and what he actually had control over should've won us a SB so all your complaining about it is a nothing burger take.
This is simply another example of some of you ignoring details to make broad statements with little behind them but hindsight.
Reality was neither team really needed that critical 4th down that you hang so much of your take on. 49ers only 4th down happened after Burford's epic fail which should've been a TD play - a 4th down we kicked a FG on.
KC had a 4th and 1 on their 34 yard line. Down and distance they would've gone for even if they had the ball first 100%.
So what exactly is the fail by Kyle's coaching? Maybe not enough timeouts to make the calls for Wilks?
