Thank you SVP for saying the stuff that would get us a warning on this website.

Sucks because he is SOOO close to being called an All Time Great Coach, but not winning a Super Bowl is going to leave a big mark on his resume. I think once he can finally get one, the noise will calm down, but don't think it will until that happens.

He found a favorable situation with Stafford getting paid too much on a team that was about to go full rebuild mode and had an inside man as the GM of the Lions.

Don't recall who it was(could've been you) but people acted like Shanahan was on vacation and didn't care about the move...meanwhile McVay was literally in the same location on vacation as well. He simply had an offer the former Rams employee wanted more and took it.

If anything Kyle panicked because of the move the Rams made to get Stafford and tried to get Aaron Rodgers but Packers told him to F off. Guess that move wasn't aggressive enough for you even though it was aggressive enough that LaFleur, who was Kyle's friend basically gave him the cold shoulder that season.

And once again sine you seem to pick and choose what you read - Sean McVay won his SB after his DEFENSE held the other team from scoring with a 3 point lead.

Yeah it was reported that Kyle tried getting Stafford all the same, he was told by someone that they had until tomorrow to figure it out, then it happened right after he was told that.

It's business, Stafford's wife said she wanted them to go to LA the year prior to the move. Then you got the LA connection with Holmes and Goff. s**t wasn't gonna happen. Now they got Stafford and we got Brock.

I don't think it was panicking either, they were getting a QB that off season. It was regarded as a good draft there. Covid f**ked up the scouting process but I have no problem shooting your shot at the QB position. Lance still could have ended up as a good QB if given more time. He should have stayed in school end of the day.

We got Brock and overall he's a darn good QB. Time for him to make his mark

Kyle was told that night he needed to make a play for Stafford ASAP because LA was meeting with him. Kyle went to sleep. Woke up next morning to the news that Stafford had agreed to LA after hanging with McVay.

"... I remember Saturday I was so stressed out and finally we talked to someone, it was seven at night, and they're like, 'No, nothing's happening (with a trade) at the earliest until tomorrow, so you can finish your night.' So I'm like, alright, I'm done. I put my phone down, talk to Mandy. I'm like, alright, 'Let's go out to dinner, let's have some drinks.' Half an hour later, my buddy calls me and is like, 'I'm just telling ya, if you want Stafford, you need to get a hold of him right now.' I'm like, 'What do you mean? We just talked to people. I can sleep on this. We'll talk to them tomorrow.' 'I'm just telling you, you need to talk to him right now.' And then it was all over."
If he wins a SB this year it will be one of the greatest coaching seasons ever. In my opinion.

He will have made vast improvements in every facet and deserves props if he can somehow pull it off.

I do agree with everything there, besides the underline part.

You do not think he has made vast improvements this season?

He won't win a Superbowl unless he is substantially better in the playoffs than In the past. With the deficiencies this team has coaching anything under near perfect is going to end up being a loss in the playoffs.

That is why I believe he will have had to have made big strides.

He's going to have to call the hurry up correctly, win every challenge, not waste any timeouts, be appropriately aggressive or conservative at the right times, rest players during games appropriately, exploit other teams weaknesses etc...

Any mistakes will be enough to lose games because the margin of error is way smaller this year.

I agree with the underline part, but it's nice to want things lol.

I don't think he needs to be perfect perfect, but if he can max out the star players he does have...and get key TDs before halftime (when they are there to be had), extending the lead when it is there... being aggressive with players like Kittle. If he's covered one on one, trust him to come down with the ball.. trust him how the Chiefs trust Kelce....and I was hoping a speedster on the onside to get a huge play or PI, just to keep the defense honest... wheel fake wr screens.. just trying to put a distance with points when the momentum is on our side...

I mean I swear that is what Kyle's offenses use to do in Atlanta. The Falcons would just start taking these leads and just piling it on and it seemed like a blow out before you knew it.

THIS year I think that can be enough (With who is going to be in the NFC playoffs, and potential AFC opponent). We are familiar with the best NFC teams, and the Bears still have a young team. We exploited the youth of the Packers and Lions in the playoffs in 2023. Or I should say they exploited themselves with mistakes.

Where I disagree with vast improvements was more so with the personnel. Choices of safeties going into the season.... oline. And disagree of usage of the players we do have. Like I wish we used B-Rob more often in goal line situations (less collisions for CMC, to get only a yard or two).

My main thing is, I want to see more how Kyle will adjust to defenses these next few weeks going into the Playoffs. We kind of have an idea since Purdy got back, but imo the competition hasn't been as legit. An opposing team's defense isn't as threatening without a competent offense. I'm not sure we'll get that from the Colts either, even though they have weapons on offense. Great weapons. The Bears and Seahawks games will be key.

Yea and the way he lost those SBs is awful. 2016 and 2023 I lay directly at his feet. He could have closed both out with better play calling and he just didn't have it. Also didn't have a plan for OT while the chiefs did. I just haven't seen the genius I expect in the playoffs. There isn't one playoff win that I feel Kyle was a big reason for

I know the media is on his nuts, but the fans that actually watch him every week know where the holes in his coaching are and why he doesn't have a ring yet

Thank you for owning what SVP said
Every coach has his flaws. Kyle is no different. Overall he's better than most of the coaches in the league. I can only think of maybe a couple that I would want instead and they aren't available. That brings up the eternal question for thise that want to replace him. With who?

When half the league is using the Mike Shanahan coaching tree I think I'll stick with Kyle and take my lumps

So let me get this straight...you read that, bolded it and still think that if the Lions were seriously considering the 49ers offer that they wouldn't have gone back to Kyle/Lynch with a counter?

49ers got blown off because they wanted the deal with the Rams. No team looking to make the BEST deal possible for them doesn't call back an interested party. You think the Rams were going to walk away from negotiations if the Lions called back the 49ers? After paying Goff all that money and only getting 3 points from him in the SB and then two seasons of showing Goff just isn't enough they were going to pass on Stafford?

Like you have to really try to ignore the obvious to make the conclusions that you do. But it doesn't seem to stop you. Forget the fact that McVay was on vacation in the exact same city at the time. Forget the fact that the very wording you posted says "then it was all over" aka no call back to the 49ers. Guess because Shanahan didn't call up the MOSAD to track down Stafford's exact location and get outside his house with a boombox and "I WANT YOU MATT" sign he didn't try to get him.

I'm sorry but these two things combined are absolutely hilarious. You sir are completely delusional with this take. What makes it even funnier is you included the Falcons loss on Kyle. Just a cherry on top of a horrendous take.

I'm sure you have proof to back all this right ? Show us where LA had the deal in the bag, and no matter what the 49ers would have offered there is no way Detroit changes its mind…
