Hypothetical, Niners lose another SB with this squad with its injuries ...... would anyone be mad at all ?
0-4 in super bowls the last 15 years? lol YES. and that will be all everyone will remember
Yet many youngsters would sing Kyle's praises with another SB loss and crown him a first ballot HOFer with his 0-3 SB record…
So should we praise missing the playoffs instead of a deep playoff run w possibility of a SB loss ?
trying to understand what those people scared about Sb losses think ?
I hate losing SBs as anyone else , but I'm not cheering on a season cut short of a SB loss .
It's literally been his die-on-the-hill logic for years and it makes zero sense.
It simply isn't worse to make it further in the playoffs and then lose than it is to not make the playoffs. It just isn't. That's Lions/Browns level of thinking to cope with never sniffing a Super Bowl.
And then when you say that he always counteracts with "oh so you're HAPPY with Super Bowl losses??? How many Lombardi's does Super Bowl appearances get us??" Except that's clearly not what he's arguing. That logic would be losing the Super Bowl is AS BAD as not making the playoffs instead of literally WORSE, which I still don't agree with but I can at least rationalize and understand (31 teams don't win the Super Bowl and 1 team does and that's it, the end. Exclusive high-standard thinking but I can at least see the argument).
But HIS logic is 1 team wins the Super Bowl, 30 teams don't make the Super Bowl, and then 1 team loses the Super Bowl, and the other 30 are allowed to spit on the Super Bowl loser. Like losing the Super Bowl counts as negative one Lombardi trophy or something. It's completely irrational and nonsensical. Should fanbases be relieved when their team misses the playoffs or loses earlier in the playoffs then? "Oh well at least we didn't LOSE the Super Bowl! We had a 4-13 season instead that's at least better than LOSING a Super Bowl! 😇😇😇"
It's just clear targeted and twisted logic. If Kyle had never coached in a Super Bowl, he would be complaining every day about how Kyle has never won an NFC Championship or coached in a Super Bowl, and that there are plenty of coaches like Zac Taylor who have at least gotten to one and is therefore superior to him. Suddenly Super Bowl appearances would have positive value to him instead of negative value. We all know it.
