Let's have an Uncomfortable Conversation about the @49ers.

They're an average team with a below average defense. Game on the line:
——
Stafford, 2 plays- 31 yards to win.
Kyler, 14 plays- 75 yards to win.
Baker, 11 plays- 58 yards to tie.
Geno, 11 plays- 80 yards to win.
There's no doubt the D has taken a step back, but watching those games - all 4 should have been beyond the point of those last drives making a difference.
The D does it job for 3.5 quarters and then gets the blame while the O splutters for 4 quarters and gets let off because they weren't on the field last?
We should be asking why all four of those teams were in a position to win or tie to begin with.
The reality is that if Jed fires Shanahan, another team will swoop up Shanny an instant, and Shanahan will have the next team winning before the 49ers sniff .500 under whatever pathetic hire Jed makes.
