Legit options only, so no Le'Veon Bell.

AB, you even added a few I excluded...I'll have to look into them. I tried to stay in the 25-28 year old range so these FA's can grow with our young core but recognize we could use a few older veterans playing at a high level that could help on the field and in helping to develop younger players behind them.

Dontrelle Inman, CHI
Joe Berger, MIN
Connor Barwin, LAR
Jeremiah Attaochu, LAC
Davon House, GB

Yeah, I'd like to stay young, but also have some good vets, Dumervil was a great pickup by Lynch.

Inman, Attaochu and House are still young-ish, but Berger and Barwin are older(not like Dumervil) I know I missed some, I went by OTCs FA list.

Well done and I agree, you need a few of those older players too.

Agree--high character guys who can help the youngsters develop good training habits. In the Baalke/Harbaugh era they brought in some questionable guys--Moss, Lloyd, etc. Not bad character players but over the hill and not great influences in my opinion.

I guess we'll suck at rushing the QB again?

Not many pass rushers in the draft and I'm not convinced they will find one in free agency. May have to wait a year or hope a guy drops to them and develops quickly. Chubb is considered the top pass rush DE and I don't see him starting next year. If they can attract Ansah great.

Edit: if they could pair Foster and R Smith at LB they would add pressure as pass rushers. Both are all around great athletes with quickness and intelligence.

More than one way to skin a cat, dtg, and a pair of meat eating LBs can get you near where an Ansah can. Not as good maybe, but it is the right idea and could work out well. Also i think we have a magic thingy is our want list bag...and it is john lynch. Late , late in season Day and marsh suddenly appear. No big promo, no fan fare, they just show up. And Day looks to be the real McCoy. So let's not sell John short...he very well may sniff out some big dude from nowhere'sville & show up in camp with him. Like with Adrian. Cripes i don't even remember him being drafted, yet he was in rd 7. And Spoon was supposed to be a flop once we got him. Nope, not the way it went down. So remember , our Swiss Army knife may very well be lynch when the dust settles. Also , i think he scores big in FA for interior OL. And the ER we all want so bad may need to be equalized with having a helluva interior OL that keeps TOP way lopsided for us. Strange how when the opposing team only has the ball 20 mins, our D looks suddenly so much better.

*scoring big in OL means a minimum of 1 bona ride starting C and one OG. The other OG comes in draft, rd 2 if we find an ER for our 1st pick. Otherwise, we take whichever OL we haven't filled in.

Sign a CB and draft one in the 3rd.

SmokeCrabtrees' value signees to add as push starters and good insurance...

Eric Decker
Taylor Gabriel
Frank Gore
Dion Lewis/Jareck McKinnon
Adrian Clayborn
Alex Okafor(Achilles recovery)
Trent Murphy(ACL recovery)
Marquis Flowers(Solid playing time in NE)
Alfred Morris

I totally overlooked Rashaan Melvin and Aaron Colvin as potential CB signings too lol.

A couple pages back (Post 1202), I have a few screenshot breakdowns of FA's. You might want to download them as we head into FA.

Gear up baby...it's almost game time!
Forgot to mention that if we want to sign Amerson we can do so now, since he is free to sign anywhere, like K'Wuan Williams and Earl Mitchell were last year.

Great call. It wouldn't prohibit us from still going after a more premier FA CB either.

So to my calculations after Jimmy and Marsh extensions, along with the future draft class well have about 70 mill firm give or take.

If we cut Ward and Aldrick Robinson we can create another 10.5 mill in cap space. So we could be looking at a possible 80+ mill at the start of FA.

Don't see why we can't spend 30-40 mill and still have 40-50 mill left over. Should be able to grab 3 starters easy. I am against two OL in FA... I might be tempted to not go after OL at all in FA and grab them in the draft.

Close but we'll wait for AB's confirmation but right now we have $113M before both JG and CM's contracts. JG will be about $30M the first 3 years. So $113 - $30 = $83M. Marsh is probably close to $3M per. So basically, $80M before cutting Ward (&8.25M), Zane Beadles ($3.5M) and Aldrick Robinson ($2M).

So, we could still have $94M easily even with JG's big contract.

FYI: Plenty of mid-tier quality veteran CB's that will give you better production and availability over Ward at less than half the cost.
