One team that could decide to make a run at Colts DT DeForest Buckner is the San Francisco 49ers, a team the star defensive tackle played for from 2016 through 2019, according to league sources. https://t.co/okLPlmo6zR pic.twitter.com/xMhSdbBGIS

This.

Can we really rule out 49ers' interest in Quenton Nelson just because guard hasn't been a position of massive investment in the past?

I'm not so sure. LG has, very clearly, been the one questionable position on the OL. Connor Colby has done well in the run game but ranks last of… pic.twitter.com/kfUxurUXUS
I think I'm in this train also,.... we don't need a pass-rusher,.... the last 2 games, against Was and Seattle, we were top3 in pressures with 29 and 23,... and 5 sacks each game (I think),... and all this without Bosa who will be back after the bye
similar with the WRs,... Robinson, Deebo, Evans and Stribling will be back at some stage after the bye,... we need a punt returner but this could be already in the building (Jordan James or one of the PS WRs)
what woukd be Nelson's price?... a 3rd+a player?.... a 2nd?
I would do it,... the most dangerous part of the DL from the strongest rivals (like Seattle or KC) comes from the interior,... protect Purdy and makethe running game unstoppable
add A'Shawn Robinson from Tampa for a 3rd day pick to improve the run defense which will be crucial in the playoffs
This would put us in a better position in Jan than a WR.

Wow, we're a team that could decide to attempt to trade for DeForest Buckner? Are we also a team that could decide not to attempt to trade for DeForest Buckner?

I don't think so. You still need threats on the outside or teams will just stack the box

chances of it happening like 2%, but I'm all for it.... if we can't get a main star edge to help get over the hump then lets get a main star oline to get us over the top and give purdy and our run game all the time in the world...

#Bengals DE Shemar Stewart, last year's first-round pick, is a healthy inactive today vs. the Baltimore Ravens.
