It's extremely likely whoever lynch takes at those picks will be an underwhelming Dline/WR (about a decade of history now that PROVES this). We need to win a SB this year given how horrible NFC is right now. Need to beat likely the Chiefs (with our s**tty luck) in the SB.

Mykel has played well see if Saleh will do us a solid and trade us Simmons for him, CJ West, and a 2nd/3rd to solidify the dline.
Get Khalil Mack from chargers for a mid round pick.

Wilson/Olave, Simmons, and Mack should be just enough to beat Kermit by at least a FG in the SB (praying Eddy P figures it out).

WTF is this madness. I'm the hardest guy on Mykel but there is no way I'm trading him unless it's for an elite edge. Like the Rams did with trading Verse for Garrett.

Like say if the Raiders would do a deal for Maxx Crosby.

That said, I love our edges and we will go to a whole other level when Bosa comes back.

Height is getting better every week. Keion White is playing out of his mind and I really hope we can extend him to a long term deal. Add in Bosa and Mykel and this is one of the strongest edge groups in the league

Curious what our dead cap hit if we release Pearsall next year (unfortunately I think its too late for him to make an impact for the 49ers in the future given all the missed time). I would love to trade a 1st/2nd for either Olave/Wilson (make them our WR1 for the future) and just move on from Pearsall.

Forgot about Simmons lol
Mid round picks for any edge help at reasonable cap numbers would be good enough rather than getting Mack

Pearsall isn't going anywhere.
TRADE FOR LA PORTA AND SIGN HIM TO AN EXTENSION!
Get Vita Vea from the Bucs and Josh Downs from the Colts. Cut Cowing and let Downs return punts as well.

I love how young Mykel is and how great of an edge setter he is. He is like 3-5 years younger than our current rookies. lol

I wouldn't trade him, I think hes going to be a key pillar for us going forward.

I understand Myles G is an all time great but he's 30 and super expensive. Their younger DE was really good, so isn't like they went from a position of "Bad DE play" to "top tier D end play". lol they went from "really really good" to "elite" (assuming the guys healthy). in situations like that, the cost is so much that the incremental improvement isn't really worth it unless you're elite everywhere else or it's going to make you a major contender (they were already a major contender).
If we were to make any moves for a WR, it would most likely be this week or next week to have at least the Bye week to get used to the system/playbook/etc...

The Colts aren't moving off Downs. Maybe Keenan Allen.

I agree. Nobody wants a guy who spends more time on the IR than the field.

That would be amazing!

I think one of the WRs is doable and fine, cap hit wise they don't gain anything from cutting Pearsall next year as his deal is fully GTD as all 1st rd picks get that now so it's not savings, if they can get either Wilson or Olave and not have to give up the farm you do it, I'm good with getting Mack since it's a 1yr deal

I agree, I'm not dealing Mykel unless it's for a huge upgrade but even then I like his upside, so I'd keep him here and develop him

Honestly the Garrett trade doesn't look good right now, I mean it may and likely will be good long term but right now it's not, their 1st they gave up may end up being top 10 and they could have used that pick to get an elite weapon, I still don't get how they took Ty Simpson when they clearly needed a WR, I think the deal wasn't great for them, great for Cleveland they got a 1, 2 and a 3 and a great up and coming EDGE in Verse
Also on Garrett, they really mismanaged that, like he played 1 game so far when it was clear in the offseason he was hurt and they let him fly to Australia and play, man if Kyle and John did that they'd be getting ripped apart in the media and rightfully so but nope the media is quiet on this for McVay and Snead, this is the double standard I can't stand, they called us injury prone and old but the Rams are also as old and injury prone like we are but they're the NFL and media darlings so I'm loving their downfall so much

How many D linemen are you planning on having on the roster? At present on the active roster we have Boss, Halton, Height, Kareem, Odighuzuwa, Okoronkwo, Thompson, Valdez, White and Williams. 10, at least 7 of whom are very good. Then we have Givens on the PS as well as two other guys I don't know. And on IR there is Collins, Farmer, Kamara, Okuayinonu and West. Whilst you may not consider that any of them are great, two of them were very high draft picks who were settling in quite well.

In my opinion the DL is the strength of the D and of the team.

I wouldn't mind seeing them picking up a reasonable receiver, but strangely, few teams are keen to let theirs go. We could perhaps pick up a vet on the last year of his contract or a younger guy struggling to prove himself in his current team. Or perhaps a tight end who leans more towards catching than blocking. But I am not holding my breath for any significant signing at any position. I could always be wrong, of course, but we shall see.

I mean we have a handful of guys we've scooped up off the streets…while they've been serviceable. we can't act like they're not replaceable or can't upgrade there.

Collins is done for the year, Thompson really hasn't done anything to assume he's not replaceable. West is hurt and we don't know if he's anything more than avg. Osa and Halton are really it for dudes.

we can't depend on Bosa to be healthy the ROS. They should always be looking to upgrade there imo.

Yeah, that's how I feel. Halton and height are playing well but are rookies, so who knows if they'll still be playing well at the end of the season. They haven't played an entire NFL schedule and could struggle at the end with fatigue, that's common for rookies. Okronko and Kareem were random pickups who have played surprisingly but once again, they are very upgradable. West looked poor all offseason and who knows how he will look after this surgery (for this year at least) and he's been average when he's been here for us anyways.

point is, when someone is asking for us to trade to get better, that doesn't mean "USE EVERY PICK" or "Trade your first and second for someone". You can get some really good players for a 3rd, or 4th, or 5th etc.

id prefer we add a veteran DE that is a proven player we can consistently rely on that if need be, they can play straight up and be a good pass rusher and set the edge well. I'd also like a WR who can give you some good WR reps and PR well.
