Would the Jets trade Garrett Wilson? They're 2-4 with Genie Smith at QB. Not exactly competing for the division or anything

Gonna be a hefty price. I'm thinking a little bit more than what Denver traded for Waddle.

Garrett Wilson would definitely be a splash but I can't help but wonder who we would lose because of him. His contract is not cheap.

I think his new contract and cap hit wouldn't make sense.

i like Chris Olave if it only takes a 2nd and 4th and the cap costs are correct. Hes a reliable #1 WR.

Chris Olave would absolutely go for more than a 2nd and a 4th.

Still would be cheaper than the 2x 1st rounders some think to offer for G Wilson. Wilson's cap hit, the Jets no of top picks already, it doesn't make sense for them to trade.

We need a team that wants and values additional picks and is doing a rebuild.

Chris Olave is next to JSN in separation and even before Shough he was their offense.

Olave is arguably better than Wilson. He has almost 100 yards per game this season and was just a second-team All Pro. Would be wild for Olave to go for much less than Wilson would.

I would love Olave don't get me wrong but just doesn't seem realistic at all. The Saints would really have to be quitting and in the NFC South after having just extended him I highly doubt they would quit.

I guess….we've been playing without Bosa for a couple weeks and overall it's been decent. As soon as Evans goes out, the offense goes stale.

why not add up on both spots?

Sounds good but it's easier said than done. Finding a guy that a team is willing to trade that can actually help is the first steps. Then they have to agree on compensation. Do you try for big blockbuster deal that would make the big impact but cost a lot or go for a smaller deal that will provide some help but not cost as much?

If I'm Lynch I'm getting both a WR who can be PR, and an EDGE for opposite Bosa.

Out pass rush has been dominant the past few weeks. Height is getting better each week and Mykel is a beast so far. And don't forget about Keion White. Dudes been a monster this year.

At DT the team seems to love the 3 DT's we have in Osa, Halton and Valdez. Maybe a big run stuffer but he wouldn't get many snaps and the team loves Thompson in that role.

We desperately need a WR and I'd easily do two 1sts for Chris Olave or Garrett Wilson.

Josh Downs, Chris Godwin and guys like that would be nice but probably not the needle movers like Olave or Wilson and they aren't much better than the guys we have coming back.

    • 2029 - 27.825M cap hit.
    • 2030 - 32.5M cap hit.

Here are some free agent targets
  • [snip]

We probably just ride with the guys we have to get through week 7, get to the bye, and hope the substation targets other positions.
  • [snip]

You have to take out some stuff from those cap numbers like any prorated money and then for 2026 depending on when traded for you have to prorate the base salary, if it's at the deadline then it's half of their base salary plus any per game roster bonuses and LTBE incentives

All of those numbers are what the 49ers would have to account for on their salary cap if that player were traded this week. That's 12 games of P5 salary, upto 11 games of per-game active roster bonuses, and LTBE incentives. Any NLTBE money, like incentives or per-game active roster bonus due to missing games from the previous year, are not part of the cap hit until the after season adjustments. Any pro-rated lump sum payments already paid out (signing bonus, option bonuses, roster bonus) stay with the prior club and aren't included here.

I wouldn't do two 1sts for Garrett Wilson. I would however do something like one 1st + Mac and then sign Jimmy G, though.

Chris Olave is someone worth trading two 1sts for. But I would be shocked if the Saints are willing to trade him.
I expect the team to just plug Cooks in at the X and use more 2RB sets (CMC, Black, Juice, James), aligning one of them as a Y/Z. Try to survive next week and go into the bye.

They are neck and neck IMO . Wilson offensive environment is really holding him back IMO . But Olave and his separation down field is very nice

Y'all need to let Jimmy G go
Need to sign Mack and vita vea and Garrett , if lynch doesn't do these 3 moves he needs to be fired after the season

this is just dumb. Garrett Wilson isnt getting traded. the Jets aren't gonna eat a $30M dead cap hit upon trading him.

Dude is choosing having draft picks over a Super Bowl lol

Most of these receivers with extreme financial contract limitations arent being traded.
