Got it. so you dont want to win a super bowl this year.

omg we can't win a super bowl if we dont make a trade!!! lol

my thought is you want to recognize when you have the ring chance we have a lot of long in the tooth dudes and we are off to the best start in the NFL i imagine lynch is working the phones nfl is a rough business this whole era is a success only if we push it over the line
I'm all for getting some dudes, but let's keep s**t real. Who's even available? Let's stop pretending the TJ watt, Drake London or Garrett Wilson's of the NFL are on the trade block….because they're most likely not.

So who's realistically available….BTJ? Dude has gotten passed up by a handful of former UDFAs for a reason. Scary Terry comes with a fat contract which they don't have the cash to absorb nor do we even know if he's available.

are we a Jerry Jeudy away from a SB lol? He's not even close to a Kyle WR imo and he's not moving the needle much (given what they're asking).

I just don't see an elite WR out there that makes sense….so go get some cheaper depth.

as far a pass rusher there's Mack, sweat possibly a rusher from Pitt not named Watt

Why can't they win a SB this yr? They've beaten 3 teams that won 14 games last yr already.

My god the whining over "not going all in" is ridiculous…ya'll can't even name a realistic trade candidate that is suppose to "save" this poor 5-0 team.

I might be wrong but I don't think the current squad has what it takes to beat the Chiefs or stop the Bills' offense if we get to face them in the SB.

Slayton just got cut, but not sure if he's injured or what .

I should have added that a good trade would make us favorites over any of those teams.

Love your eloquence though.

Who's whining? We're just saying that it's better to think short term than long term this season. I personally love "building through the draft" and "developing youngsters" and "preserving draft capital". But I'm also fed up with waiting 32 years for a title and this core won't easily get another chance next year or the year after.

But whining? We don't even know what Lynch is doing. It's not even trade deadline yet. If we're being silly, then how about all these little GMs around? "I wouldn't pay more than a 5th" - "I want to give the youngsters a chance". You say whining, I say delusions of grandeur.

I don't want to argue by authority, but would you say Steve Young is "whining"? He made exactly the same argument. All-in. Now or never. Reinforce success. He should know something - after the disappointments of '92 and '93 the team went "all in" and you can't deny it wasn't sweet to pay Dallas back.

Yeah I'm starting to think this way too. The window may close soon with the multiple future HoFers that will lose a step in the near future. I'm okay swinging for a big trade at the cost of a day 2 pick. The NFC is there for the taking.

With Brock playing the way he is the window is open for the next decade.

You're not wrong. Regarding this core of Trent, Kittle, CMC, let's not pretend they aren't past their prime - they aren't going to be getting better at this age. If there's a sensible win-now move to make, let's do it imo. There are different degrees to overpayment, and I'm saying I'd be fine with a slight overpay for immediate benefit.

Specifically speaking, I am okay with overpaying for DL help. While it's great that some of the young DL are flashing, I'd like to acquire a proven commodity to bolster the defense, especially the run defense as I am looking way ahead towards a SB rematch with the Chiefs. As an example, I'd give two 4th rounders for KMack. I would not be upset at giving a (late) 3rd rounder for KMack. I understand that's overpay, but that's the type of move that makes a very impactful difference.

That is a high priority with me as well. Looking around the league, you can't help but notice how Kenneth Walker has changed the KC offense and how his loss has hurt Seattle. The reality of facing Mahomes and Walker in a Super Bowl is a daunting thought. Hence, if we can somehow acquire that key run stuffer, we should do it. Mack would be great but so would A'Shawn Robinson on the inside. Robinson is on a one-year deal and will be looking for a bag this offseason. A one-year rental deal would be worth it if he can shut down Walker. Tampa isn't going anywhere this year and there is talk Todd Bowles will be replaced. The timing seems good to give them a 3rd/4th for one of the best run stoppers in the league.

Exactly this.

I think we need to really face the fact that if we want to win we need to be prepared to probably beat the Chiefs or Bills and that means stopping their run game.

Robinson would be a good addition but Im still calling Tampa for Vita Vea as well as the Chargers for Khalil Mack.

I mentioned earlier about Terry McLaurin but I guess we have Kirk, Robinson and Stribling coming back so hopefully these guys can all stay healthy and that gives us a deep WR room.

Evans, Deebo, Robinson, Stribling, Kirk is a solid group.

Beefing up the Dline should be the #1 priority.

Counting on stribling and Robinson and ohhhh Kirk? Thats just agreeing to piss away our chances this year. Evans is hanging on by a thread and it's only October. We need another receiver and some dline help. We are an injury factory and we need serious depth with talent to win it all. Going cheap and adding street scrubs ain't going to cut it. We are sooo close this year. Go all out and grab what you can if it's available. We don't know who is really available and at what price. That's the gm's job so who cares what we think about this guy or that guy. I just hope lynch gets us some reinforcements that will have an impact. That is if he can get over his we like what's in the building approach.

I'll just add that CJ West can potentially come back from IR. I know he wasn't playing well this year, but that was due to injury and Kyle has said it's not season ending injury and hopefully he'll be available in the playoffs. Depending on CJ's health and his perceived abilities after healing up, I wouldn't spend too much on run defense until I talk with CJ's doctors and the training staff first before trading for guys like Vita Vea.

Deebo should be back in a couple of weeks, for what it's worth. Stribling looked really good in preseason. Jordan Watkin's has developed nicely. I believe Kirk has his practice window opened up this week.

There's only one ball to go around.

CMC, Kittle, Evans and Deebo get the majority of targets. There isn't much left but as long as Robinson and Stribling can stretch the field and give defenses something to think of then it's a win.
