Then again Rourke would be getting all the reps so who knows maybe they don't bring in a veteran maybe just to the practice squad.

Personally, if we lose Brock, I want to see what Rourke can do versus what Mac can do. Now I understand that you would play Mac if Purdy goes down temporarily in the playoffs, but if its worse than that, I'd rather play Kurtis and see what we got in Kurtis. But thats just me, I'm a big believer in Kurtis.

I don't think Shanahan is quite there yet with Rourke unless forced to do so. I'm sure Rourke is good right now, but we have to remember he's one year off a torn ACL and just had a rib injury that kept him out of most of the preseason. So that's quite a lot of reps he's missed. But at 5-0, I don't want to see any back up QB's. lol
Who is the one player you want Mr. Lynch to get before the trade deadline? I want Simmons from the titans.

I want hands down = TJ Watt or Vita Vea

Would settle for = Khalil Mack, Will McDonald, Zach Sieler, DaRon Payne, Grover Stewart, Teair Tartt, DeForest Buckner

it's definitely possible, NFC is weak this year
if our defense improves and our run game is clicking... Mac would be enough

No reason to trade a good backup QB on a 5-0 team that gets injuries like they do.

Like I said, there's very little chance we win with Mac as our QB. The OL is better, but we just saw what happened, 60% pressure rate, which is insane. Mac will get destroyed against a good DL.

Agreed, Mac is good, but he cannot evade the rush or feel the pocket like Purdy. I admit Colby and Brendal have improved and played well overall this year, but yeah, those playoff D's... ooof. We face almost all of them in the regular season so let's see.

I still want to see them draft better talent at Center and Guard.
Forget the trades. They should be occasional, if not unusual, in building the team for success.

So many are hell-bent on us paying a premium price for someone else's over-the-hill malcontents. This season has shown so far that by allowing the new guys to get experience, several will step up when given a chance.

This upcoming draft should include a couple premium picks on the OLine - Likely a premium tackle and C/G. Unless Lynch can pull of a 3rd for a Trent Williams like move... still a masterclass trade he deserves more credit.

So you have no names or ideas of a possible trade that makes logical sense. Gotcha

Are we seriously doing this? Fine:

"I would pay a conditional 7th for Nacua"

"Smith-Njigba for a 4th at most. I want to preserve draft capital"

"I woudn't pay more than a 5th for Jefferson".

They are all as likely as any of the other possibilities being floated around. I talked about strategy, not fantasies. Because if we talk about fantasies, sure, Jefferson for a 5th would get us lots of props and A pluses among the journalists.

Agree with you. Start with the draft, and make trades to shore up anything that can't be addressed through FA and the draft.

There's no way he's happy with his usage right now. I would love getting JJ - zero ramp up time when it comes to the playbook. We all know who he is and what he brings. Evans, JJ, Stribling, Deebo, DeMarcus Rob is a well rounded group. It just sucks that he is on an NFC team that is currently doing well. If the 49ers were an AFC team, JJ would be gone for a reasonably cheap price.

Yeah I think there's a couple weeks left before the deadline before we forecast the Vikings as some juggernaut in the NFC lol

They resigned Vea so that's not gonna happen. Bucs are not gonna take a big cap hit.

Watt would cost too much. And usually the Steelers don't trade away their franchise guys.

that tweet is so weird.
1. espn tracking metrics that dont explain how the grade are made up
2. so many WRs on this list would be instant upgrades over a lot of teams WR2
3. in the context of the 49ers or any team that is decimated by injuries at the position, Im pretty damn sure Alec Pierce or Egbuka is a million times better and every team would want to have them over a Jordan Watkins or a Jacob Cowing or a fresh off couch Cooks
