Looking how Denzel Boston is lighting it up in Cleveland makes me wonder if Lynch missed on another one for a guy they fell in love with.

I think Stribling has potential and it's unfortunate he got hurt but I loved Boston coming out.

It happens every year with this regime. They over draft a guy with traits and pass on few a better players

Lots of people passed on Boston. 38 players were picked before him.

Lynch seems to find a way to get the wrong guy, even when on paper it seems to be the right choice. His draft history for receivers is a horror show. Luck? Maybe but the consistency in bad outcomes is outstanding. Deebo is the only dude worth talking about. The rest are hurt, never developed and practice squad level talent.

I don't know what the talent acquisition side of the house can learn from the Stribling failure. He didn't have an injury history. He looked as good as advertised in camp and the preseason games. It's just unfortunate that he hasn't been able to stay healthy. What's the lesson to take away from that when it comes to evaluating future draft talent?

Good question and I don't know if there is anything to takeaway from stribbling other than yet another receiver drafted that can't contribute due to injury. Add him to the list and hope for a better outcome than the rest.

Take the best available player and quit reaching on guys they think are scheme fits.

It hasn't worked in 10 years. Just look at our 1st round pick whiffs

- Solomon Thomas over Patrick Mahomes and CMC

- Javon Kinlaw over Tristian Wirfs

- Trey Lance over Micah Parsons, Ja'Marr Chase, Penei Sewell and Patrick Surtain

- Ricky Pearsall over Cooper DeJean and Zach Frazier

- Mykel Williams over Tyler Booker, Grey Zabel, Tyler Warren and Emeka Egbuka

- De'Zhaun Stribling over Denzel Boston, R Mason Thomas and Gabe Jacas

Imagine this team with 2 or 3 of those players. We probably have a SB or two by now.

At this point with the way they draft they would be better off throwing darts at a dart board

It gets tirung seeing all these fans that think they could have done a better job drafting. Easy to do when you have hindsight.

A blind squirrel can draft better than we have.

How is it hindsight? The players I listed were all better players coming out than the guys we picked

you're right, I can't believe Lynch doesn't have a 100% hit rate on all pros

Stribling failure....lol, what a joke. So to you he is already a failure huh?
Here is what we can learn.....the NFL is a very physical game and athletes sometimes get hurt.

I will say this, it didn't take a 20 year GM or 20 year scout to know and draft Nick Bosa. If you do enough research and discuss this he draft enough it's not wrong to say that we would have went with Vince Wilfork over Rashaun Woods. A lot of people on here wanted Denzel Boston, would they have been wrong to draft him? I wanted Cam Skattebo over Upton Stout. I sure as hell wouldn't have drafted a one year wonder in Trey Lance #3 overall. Let's face it, Lynch has given himself a bad track record when it comes to the draft.

Upton Stout is a stud. Weird to use that pick as evidence against Lynch. Also a little early to celebrate Boston being better than Stribling.

It's a failure when your top draft pick is not playing and will probably miss most if not all of their rookie season. It can still turn around, but the outlook is bleak right now. No WRs this century have missed their rookie season due to injury and later gone on to have a 1000 yard season in their career.

It's not a draft evaluation failure though, so I'm not sure how much Lynch is to blame. Which is also true for all of our other high picks that have struggled with injury. It's hard to tell where the evaluations failed vs. injuries stunting the development of their draft picks.

Yet they turned a incredible bad organization to a consistent top team in the NFL and drafted two future HOFs

Since 2017, the majority of the roster consists of drafted players.

I don't agree with some decisions, but I'm not going to pretend that it's been awful

It's unfortunate, not a failure
