Lucked into Shanahan but Lynch as a GM? Wtf?? So many qualified GMs 49ers interviewed...and in the end - they decided to hire a guy who has ZERO experience working in a NFL Front Office. He has ZERO experience as a scout at any level. I understand, so many potential GM candidates rejected 49ers. But, to hire a guy who has never held a position that is in no way related to a day-2-day job profile of a GM is unbelievable. I'm sure Lynch is a smart guy...he was a smart player...but that has NOTHING to do with being a GM. Why take the risk at this time? --------------- edit: After having some time to digest this news...wish him all the best and I hope he proves ppl wrong. Still don't understand why we needed to take such a risk but it is what it is now. I do have to say - his first presser made a positive impression.

He was never going to play 17 games this year. Everyone should have known that.

But IF he can be healthy in DEC/JAN the team can see some success.

Dang even the cat man Pettis is back for a work out. I heard Tyreek is maybe available but he doesn't pass the personal conduct background that some of the local Bay Area fans expect.

lol not the reunion we were hoping for. We wanted DBuck not D duck when the balls is thrown over the middle.

Anyway we need bodies and maybe he's grown up. I heard he was great in returning punts back in college. lol.

Honestly curious if we make a big move at the trade deadline. I remember last season we were all hoping to trade for a Bosa-replacement and it ended up being a dud (unless you count trading for Keion White).

If we have a good record by then Lynch and Shanahan usually put their chips in and try to go for it. I'm expecting the same if we can get a DE, DT, or WR
