That's also the difference between what we spend on strength and conditioning vs. the rest of the NFL.

Good suggestion.
Spotrac estimates his market value at $9,2 million. That is a lot for a 36+ year old offensive lineman. However, he played 909 snaps last year and was ranked in the top 15 of all guards last year.
My guess is that the staff will give Colby and Jones more time to show what they can do. Writers have said Colby has been much improved from last year. If that trend continues, and it looks like he can do the job, it will be hard to justify spending that kind of money on a guy that may not have all the much left. After all, there must be a reason all other teams have passed on him to this point.

I believe if you bring in Zeitler, you not only solidify the left side of your O-line. But you get another great mentor for Colby and the other young guys. It's a win-win situation if you ask me.

Unfortunately, Colby has declined since the start of camp and seems to be getting dominated by everyone including UDFAs. Odds are it's going to be the FA we signed from Miami OG.
im down to pay Zeitler cause we have to go against incredible D lines this year and our o Line is going to struggle, IMO. Our LG and C are below average on their best days.
imagine Donald and Garrett from the rams lined up against our current LG and C…. Instant sack or TFL. Lol

Idk if Donald returns or not, the Rams are going to need to clear cap room to fit him at first, he will count like $30M, and they have like half that right now, so they'd need to clear money and/or have him redo his deal.
