Lucked into Shanahan but Lynch as a GM? Wtf?? So many qualified GMs 49ers interviewed...and in the end - they decided to hire a guy who has ZERO experience working in a NFL Front Office. He has ZERO experience as a scout at any level. I understand, so many potential GM candidates rejected 49ers. But, to hire a guy who has never held a position that is in no way related to a day-2-day job profile of a GM is unbelievable. I'm sure Lynch is a smart guy...he was a smart player...but that has NOTHING to do with being a GM. Why take the risk at this time? --------------- edit: After having some time to digest this news...wish him all the best and I hope he proves ppl wrong. Still don't understand why we needed to take such a risk but it is what it is now. I do have to say - his first presser made a positive impression.

He doesnt want to stay there and only 8 or so teams realistically have cap space to take the contract as it sits. Price wont be super high

Yup and named only a few teams he'd sign with to make that number even smaller. Also; wrong side of 30, we name the price or they can kick rocks.

But man that guy would freakin change our defense for damn sure. Absolute stud

Obviously the 9ers are a fit for every player that's asked for a trade. Smfh

The 49ers have a head coach, coaching staff, they play offense and defense. They have a football team that's in the NFL. So yah the 49ers are a fit for Vita Vea.

Problem is I doubt the Raiders trade him right now and I think the Giants want a 2nd for Thibodeaux which is nuts as he's making a lot of money this year and is a FA next year where he's gonna get overpaid big time

I mean c'mon man, it's late July, there aren't many good FAs left and I just don't see teams trading top tier edge rushers right now as for Minkah yeah he'd have been nice but he's older and we really do need to get younger and cheaper which is why I'm wary of sending high picks and giving out s**t tons of money for older players

Same here, no way am I including either Collins or West, both have too much upside to trade away and it seems to be the same crowd who wants ton get younger and cheaper that also want us to bring in high priced older vets and it seems that the ppl that want these big names only want them cause well they're big name players

it would be a 1 year rental essentially so i also dont think we should trade a young player.

I think its a luxury for sure if we trad ehim i wouldnt mind it for a mid round pick having him with Osa would be pretty dangerous also would eat up so much space and help the LB a lot .

I wouldnt go too hard after him though
