Just looked and he's got 58 snaps at FS in his 9 years in the NFL…

Yeah, he's a slot cornerback, and only 58 snaps at FS doesn't make me say "yeah sign him to play FS".

PFF has him at 1,002 snaps at Safety and being that SS and FS are interchangeable in today's NFL I'd say that's sufficient. And it's not like players like Charles Woodson had a bunch of snaps before changing positions. Some players when they get older move to Safety and others retire. I trust a slot corner to safety than a boundary corner to safety for instincts and feel.

I'd put money on Kenny being a better FS than Jaiir Brown from day one. In both run support and coverage.

I thought I read somewhere that he had over 1000 snaps at FS?

Idk now Google says two things 1002 and then 58 so idk and I don't sub to PFF premium so I can't see his career snaps

I might trust Jakob Robinson at the safety before JB or MM even tho he never played one snap in an NFL regular season

let's hope Stribling doesn't have things like this

Strib had 9 drops is 5 seasons. KC had 7 last year alone and 19 in 3 seasons.

I'm pretty sure thats one of the big reasons why Kyle n company liked him.

1000% plus he would be the only one in the backfield that can actually catch the football
so Johnny is waiting to get Joey Bosa on the cheap? i guess he plays him out to training camp to see if he lowers the asking price

Maybe. It's a crowded dline room at the moment. Going to have to cut a promising young player to fit Bosa imo.

i kind of want to see how our UDFAs look (Eason and Kamara) before grabbing a vet Edge. It seems like Height and Mykel might form a fine platoon opposite Bosa, but depth is lacking for sure.

58 snaps at FS. 1002 overall at safety. But we're not looking for another box safety, we have enough of those even if they're not dominant there.

I would like Joey here for multiple reasons, including bringing in another vet at edge to help the young guys and improve our depth/rotation.

However he's not a NEED. So they don't have to overpay him. Either Joey towards the tail end of his career wants to play with his little brother and have a chance to win something meaningful or he can chase more money again and bounce around. Hard to see him getting multi year deals with other squads. 2 years at most.

Agree. I think they will begin to know what they have in our young edge rushers once the rookies and the vets practice together. It would be about that time when ShanaLynch will tender an offer to Joey, if they think they need him and if they think they have a legit Superbowl window comming up.

Make him a reasonable offer based on his age and number of snaps he's likely to see. If he rejects it then screw him. Tired of players that just want money. Especially when they're older and don't have SB ring. When he's an old man that SB ring will mean more than a few extra dollars.

I think with the young and talented defensive line we have, he'll have the potential to get more than 5+ sacks - in my opinion. But I don't want the 49ers to cut a young and promising DE just to fit Joey on the Roster - even *if* Joey is asking for just veteran minimum wage.
