I think it's more that they turn portions of the draft over to Kyle and his staff. This might not be his fault, but if he's not powerful enough to stop it, maybe we need someone who is.

I think folks need to understand that every team's coaching staff has a lot of input in who is drafted. Yes Kyle will have more say in those skilled positions on offense. He has total faith in his position coaches for those positions…if not they wouldn't be there. It's part of their job.

the scouting department brings all the info in and they have a bigger say…lynch legit said this at the presser before the draft.

it's not just Kyle looking over hundreds of hours of film on every single prospect lol. Also lynch does have final say on draft day…but overall it's not a my guy vs your guy thing. They all make an agreement.

My overall issue is they simply refuse to read the rest of the league and understand value. I'm so sick of hearing we had such conviction over so an so….dude enough. They're not learning from their mistakes and at some point you need to find a new GM if we suffer though another s**t draft.

Yep utter bull crap. IDGAF if you had conviction about a guys value. You know what? I'm super convicted on players too but I have the common sense to know other teams would have them lower and or pass due to other needs.

Do we not even try to get Intel on other teams?? Drafting purely based on your grade with zero consideration for any other factors is exactly how you end up with horrendous value for your collective draft class.

Absolutely effing clown show.

Could you explain a little further for the uninitiated?

I'd love to him to point out all the players we've drafted over the years that general big boards called a reach….stout is the only one and that was a yr ago….bad pick after bad pick when reaching.

We've now drafted 6 RBs under this regime and the most "successful" RB is Trey sermon. It's come to a point where they just suck at scouting the position or simply refuse to let any of them develop and play. Either way they continue to waste picks

Come on guys, stop acting like you expected anything different from this guy. Reaching far and deep for players that won't reach the field and when they do they break. Reacher is his name. Denying us contributors is his game.
I'm glad I turned off the draft after that pick at 33.
Another 3rd RB?!?!? Are we serious? Make room for him on the bench next to James and Guerendo!
Can't believe I was looking forward to this draft.
It's early, maybe these guys work for us, but damnnn we need changes in the Front office.

I love the draft season, I enjoy the whole process and looking to build a roster. I think I enjoy it as much as the regular season…it's come to a point where they're ruining it lol.

For me, I spend too much time watching/reading/listening to all things draft…just to watch this f**king s**t show go down every yr. It's super frustrating and hard to have faith for their process when the results are consistently dog s**t.

I think Kyle is an elite level HC a play caller…I think their whole draft process is this team's downfall, at some point Jed has to fix it
I said before the draft that he needs to knock it out of the park or I'm done with him.

im done with him. Unless these players turn out to be amazing rookies, they can both go.
I want to add that I really don't "hate" any of the players they picked. I was high on height thoughout the process. He was a guy I wanted to target as true DPR. Stribling was a draft rider and I think he has some pretty sizable upside, and Black doesn't suck.

there was just better players at 33, height was proper value, drafting another RB is unforgivable. If they just move up like 2 picks (swap some picks) and get Pregnon and no one is really that upset.

I'm not firing Kyle based off the draft..,he's a big say in all of it, but this is Lynch and his FO's show.
fire this guy

he works undercover for the rams. there is no other way around of what he does every draft

Elijah Mitchell is probably in the conversation. He was a good running back that couldn't stay healthy. Your point still stands though. The running backs don't develop because most of them get drafted then never play unless injuries force them to.

Watching Lynch trade back and accumulate more draft capital was both wise (For this draft) but terrifying for me at the same time. I could feel it in my gut that they were going to piss me off at 33 with some WTF reach.

Maybe we should talk to our guy who we have undercover with the Rams, the one who picks their QB's in the first round?

I am at a point where it's obvious they have deficiencies with identifying personnel and drafting. The only change that could lead to different results would be a new GM who has final say over Kyle. I don't see that happening.
Pre-Draft Grade:
Black earned a pre-draft grade of 5.69 from NFL.com, which equates to a "candidate for the bottom of a roster or practice squad player," per the site's 8-point grading scale.
Projection:
NFL.com projected Black to be a fifth- or sixth-round draft pick.

Stribling can't get separation
Height is already 25 years old
LMAO
Make it stop

Along with a new oline coaching staff that believes they need talent to create a good offensive line. Year after year we take 3rd round running backs we cut/trade in the following years. Then we trot out Brendel and whoever at left guard. Purdy's going to be injured again due to piss poor protection. Rinse and repeat every year.
