Everyone is happy with this off-season.....until we play the Seahawks and we realize again that our O-line is garbage against real competition. Then we complain about our O-line and demand a better unit for next season.......until they sign a receiver and a pass-rusher and everyone forgets again that the O-line is the main issue of this team.

We keep repeating the cycle over and over with this ringless regime.

I don't think anyone forgot about the issues at Oline. I've seen almost 99% of the posters on here want the oline to improve. Just because we're not crying about it 24/7 doesn't mean we don't want it to happen. Also add in we could cry in here 24/7 for the next 5 years, it would do absolutely nothing since it won't affect their decisions. If they want to address the Oline they will, its as simple as that. If they don't then we hope that it works out at the end. That being said we can be happy about the other issues this team has tried to improve this off season, which is why some are happy.

I'm one of them, I want the OL to improve, it's just hard to do so in FA when these teams are paying outrageous prices for FAs, makes no sense to give a center $27M a yr, that makes it impossible for teams like the 49ers, who are contenders, to compete with bad teams who will overpay for players.

That contract is nuts too, it's basically a 3yr fully GTD deal, they can't cut him next year and save money, his 2028 salary becomes GTD early in March 2027, I would NEVER do that deal, LV had to overpay to get him, just not worth it, that's LT money, not C money IMO, he's making $9M a yr more than the next C.

Yeah, I get they need to pay a bad team tax, but that is nuts. Guards get crazy money in free agency as well, the only one I'd have been interested in is Elgton Jenkins but he's just come off a huge injury

Yeah, I wasn't too keen on Jenkins since he is injury prone, plus got I think $12M a yr on a 2yr deal, I wouldn't mind Bitonio, but hope they draft a T and/or G ASAP, they NEED to think about life after Trent.

I don't know whether tackle, edge or WR is the most important need. If any player at one of those 3 positions slides back they should take him unless he has some injury questions.

I'm thinking it's either a pass rusher, or a tackle who can slot in at LG at 27. the two glaring needs. One thing I've come to learn with this FO is, no matter who I think the pick will be, we will all be surprised. They have their own way of player evaluation.
I hope they do what Whitner suggests, and just pick the great football player, don't worry so much about getting a "Gold Helmet."

There must be 100 mock drafts published every year. I doubt any get all 32 picks right. After the first 5 it becomes really hard to know who goes where. That's why the 49ers often surprise. The top rated guys are gone before they pick so they end up reaching or taking marginal first round talent. The difference between late first and early to mid second round talent isn't great.

The 49ers, they draft a little differently than best player available. They take the player that fits their system best at an area of need, especially in the first couple rounds. I don't like that, but if it's an edge rusher or tackle that can play guard or a straight up guard I like it a lot because at least they will get a lot of playing time and it is a position of need. However, if there is the second best safety that falls to us at 27 I would rather go that way, but I understand why they wouldn't.
Kirk's terms, 1yr $3M base value, $1.61M GTD base salary, $1.17M signing bonus, $170K per game roster bonus, and $50K workout bonus, $2.96M cap number.

Waitman's terms, 1yr $1.29M, $1.215M base($400K GTD), & $75K signing bonus, $1.15M cap number as his base salary only counts $1.075M against the cap.

Wallow's terms, 1yr $1.24M, $1.215M base($330,300 GTD), only counts $1.075M against the cap, $25K roster bonus for making the week 1 53-man roster, $1.075M cap number.

Okuayinonu's terms are in, 1yr $2.3M, $1.605M base salary($1.3M GTD), $500K signing bonus, $170K per game roster bonus, & $25K workout bonus, $2.28M cap number.

I have the 49ers $28.085M under their adjusted cap.

They wont because they dont value the secondary like they should.
Glynch / Shnanny probably hate that they can't ignore O line and secondary like clockwork... they're kinda forced into paying more attention since both units were (recently) severely abused and exposed twice by the cucks

The last 2x they played them they were a shell of themselves due to injury.
