How would you guys feel about bringing in Clowny & Hargrave on 1 or 2 year deals?

I think this is a weak free agency where we can get some bridge guys that can help while we develop rookies. I wouldn't break the bank on any of these guys at this point.

Lol at bringing Hargrave back

Why, he could probably help us.

Different DC than his last time with us.

How often does a team bring back a player that didn't work out with that team with the same GM and HC running the team?

it might be back to back for us if we bring back Deebo and Greenlaw this year lol..

I tend to agree… but also if we signed Hendrickson of course I'm going to get excited lol

nah Hargrave whole thing was rushing the passer and was weak against the run he got worse at rushing the passer with his injuries and age makes no sense even as a rotational piece

Depends on the bad blood. Seemed liked Hargrave liked it here well enough.

I'd love to have Clowney here. 8.5 sacks in 13 games last season he's still productive and being 33 he would essentially be a pass rush rental. The more bodies our DLine can get into a rotation the better.
Krueger on KNBR is saying the Niners should go after the talented DT Carter from the Eagles if he's definitely being made available. Krueger thinks he's just what the Niners need in the middle - a talented "dog" you have to gameplan extra for and one who will give the Niners' DL a needed component of nastiness (and possibly more baggage as he's had previously).

He's definitely a talent that could be just what is needed for the interior along with bringing a different personality/player-type element. However, how much would it take to get him? Hopefully not a 1st. Also, he's up for a new contract after this upcoming season and will need to get paid. And then you have to hope there's very little future baggage w/ him.

But we have a new DC and he could come in in obvious passing situations. Wouldn't need him to be an every down IDL at this point.

My question is, why is he available?

I know he's had some on field issues (suspension) which I don't see as a problem, but does he have off field issues or locker room issues?
We done Lynch?
How have we only signed two guys?

My assumption is because they can't pay both tackles big contracts. They chose Davis which makes Carter available.

I remember that during his draft, he was considered an incredible prospect/talent but had work ethic questions. Has that been of any issue or brought up by the media as a concern with him? cause if so, then paying him would be a mistake IMO. You pay a lazy guy a ton of money and you're most likely not going to get what you paid for because he got what he wanted.

PHI just gave their other DT a new deal 3 years 78 million

You cant pay 2 DT elite money (remember we had to decide between Buckner and Armstead too)
