He has scouts to do that work for him. The GM doesn't just do the draft by himself.

$30m in dead money. Don't expect any big name signings.

Im honestly not interested in big name signings. We need lots of help and that comes from the draft and having players on rookie contracts. Seven picks in the first four rounds is enough to few a couple of holes.

Why are so many people so fixated on signing big names every year, as if it frigging works for every other team who overpays for players? This hardly ever works, the so called offseason winners hardly ever win it all, I just want some upgrades, not saying big names, and get some nice depth pieces, but I await the people who say we need to sign this guy or that guy for $20M a year cause why not when that's the dumbest thing to do, don't overpay or spend for the sake of spending, but WTF do I know, I'm only the guy who actually understands the Salary Cap.

The Seahawks didn't build that defense by signing a ton of high priced beef. They drafted well and they got lucky with some of the picks.
Zero chance this guy gets replaced right?
Since we want to have a healthy financial situation, the onus is on the front office to draft well. If they draft well, they'll need to be better at distinguishing between who we keep, who we can trade, and who we can just let walk. I think they are on the right path.

it AIN'T Lynch.. it's Shanny... he ain't winning one here... even if we draft future HOF players, it's just NOT meant to be for Shanny to get us a ring here..

If we could only bring in PJ Fleck...

Do you know what these two former WRs (PJ and Shanny) have in common ??

They occupy an inordinate amount of space in your head?

I dont see how you can judge where we are but considering we were in the final 8 with this broken down unit, I think its safe to say we still can compete for Super Bowls next year.

What has been made very clear is our lack of speed on offense, pass rushers and edge setters on defense, and tight end depth. Could add corners but those guys played with the league's worst pass rush.

A quality draft with no reaches and actually playing the guys we draft, moreso on offense, will do wonders.

I'll also add dominant run blocking and pass protecting O-line.

Back at the beginning of the season, we had a veteran and a top-pick rookie that were doing that but then...

Lynch addressed the issue in the draft, and in adding White and Huff during the season.

There is some promising young talent in the secondary. It is just hard to evaluate them with a historically bad pass rush.

The problem was all the wheels kept falling off the wagon as those pieces could not stay healthy.

It's BS thinking. It's going on 11 years of trying. I am ready for a GM change and I don't spout from the hip. I have carefully thought about it. The problem is I think Kyle and him are tied at hip and Kyle might threaten to leave if that was proposed (behind the scenes-we would never know)

Kyle would never give up some responsibilities and his control over personnel to another GM. Do we say it now. If nothing by year 15 out.
