I hope lynch makes it happen. Would be huge for this year and make it so we are a true contender.

if we can get healthy, we can super dangerous. The issue we have no pass rush without bosa. We need a big time contributor and this guy is the perfect fit.

id send a 2nd and 4th or so for him. Thats just me. I think we've crushed our last two drafts and that gives us the ability to use some on a vet proven player. Just IMO.

i really want Hendrickson cause of his motor. Dude is going 100% - a hundred percent of the time. Would be a great culture fit for us and for the young guys.

That all depends on if they sign any free agents (also you can't get more than a comp 3rd). They need talent in the worst way and a comp 3rd could get washed out if they sign a big FA to off set whatever hendrickson gets. Also who knows if he gets a massive pay day being 31 or if he gets hurt after the deadline (which would diminish his worth in FA and Cinci's comp pick).

They don't get any compensation for hendrickson leaving this off season in the 2026 draft either. Not a chance they get a 2nd let alone a 1st by the deadline.

I wouldn't hate trading for hendrickson, but I'm not giving up a 1st or 2nd. I wouldn't offer anything more than what we gave up for Young.

He's older, more expensive and is a one year rental. I'd prefer to trade for someone that's in our plans past this yr. Someone who's either younger (still on a rookie deal) or has already been extended.

Lombardi brought up Jeffery Simmons, I would love that. Maybe Phillips in Miami or Thibodeaux

Simmons would be a real nice move if it can be done without huge draft compensation.

The part is question is if we would pay another DE top money, can we even afford that? Thats what im looking at this as a one year rental sort of situation.

id love it if we got a guy like Simmons and could extend him, but i just question if we can pull that off.

ideally we extend them but. Because our cap going forward gets tight - I feel like we are going to trade for some random guy who plays a role and isn't a full time starter. I hope not

Agree with this.

They'd have to extend him and Huff in offseason. Would definitely take some work. Collins Simmons and West would be a nasty rotation going forward though.
My gut kinda tells me that if they get by, especially if they look solid vs Tampa and 49ers get the W on the road... Lynch / Shanny won't rush into anything. They could be banking on the youngsters getting better after every game.

Huff looked real good, held a few times and should've gotten at least two sacks for the night. MW is growing up fast and looking pretty good. K Davis getting hurt isn't good but Elliot is playing better, Alfred is coming around and CJ West is playing with a cast and doesn't suck. There's still Valdez and Anderson on the PS. Trevis Gipson will now get more time.

I'm just saying, they might not be in a rush if these guys look good after this mini bye.

Personally, I hope they add a stud to the Dline like Simmons and bring up Anderson and/or Valdez, but it doesn't mean it's going to happen any time soon, or at all for that matter

I looked up Jeffery Simmons and it looks like Bears fans have already laid claim to that trade rumor, so we'll need to look elsewhere.

I don't think they'll make any trades. They've been pretty open about not planning on contending this year. This year is only about developing guys for the future.

Just make a move that has impact IDGAF where they add. Just don't add some scrub off the street only to be signed to the practice squad.

I'd give up a 2nd for Brian Burns. And I just hope something can be worked out with Trey Hendrickson. I know Lynch and Shanahan are smart enough to not give up 1st and 2nd round picks.

They love to do that tho OR add / give someone a chance then lose em to another team or back to PS

If we can give up a 2nd or so for a good pass rusher that we can resign, that would give our d line an incredible chance to be elite for the next few years - assuming the rookies continue to develop. Especially since Bosa will be back.

ideally, this is a big time trade for a guy who will help take our d line tk the next level for a few years. Guys like that don't come cheap (trade capital).

you'll get Arden Key and like it

Lmao unfortunately, this is the kind of trade I'm anticipating. I'd prefer to get someone who can play 3 downs and pass rush.

you know I saw maybe the guy from N.O. Cameron Jordan. He's old but still a good player and high motor. I wouldn't mind him. It wouldn't be too exciting for the future but a decent pickup for this year

Jordan would be interesting, a great hometown/character fit too, I don't SF spending too many high picks with their newfound dedication to building through the draft with Purdy's new deal, which is why I really think Arden Key and maybe another of that type will be the addition.
However...
If they keep winning I can see SF wanting to go in on this season because Saleh is cooking and might get a a HC job next year, and it's clear that Shanny/Saleh is a special coaching duo. They might want to take advantage of this. also the SB is at Levis. You combine all this with the soft schedule and guys returning from injury and this could be a special year.
So if they win at TB and ATL, I think it's possible they look into Hendrickson and Simmons. I think Hendrickson would cost a 2.

Still think it's more likely a Key type, for like a 5th/6th
