Newberry was as tough as they come. Too bad injuries caught up with him. It's good to have former player calling this ownership group out. Telling like it is instead of sugar coating.

This has obviously been a terrible season. Usually, at this point I would start thinking about the draft and free agency and plant the seeds of hope for next season. But after hearing Young and Newberry comment on ownership, it just depresses me.
Thinking about draft picks and free agent signings in like re-arranging chairs on the deck of the Titanic, it will not make a difference or stop the ship of sinking.
I hope Jed and his parents have taken stock of our collective reaction to their terrible management of the team, and finally, finally decided to bring in a real front office with real football experience.
Look at the Raider....The Raiders. It makes me sick to say this, but the Raiders are building a team the right way. Stable front office, Good GM, Good Coach and Good Players. With the core they are building, they will be good for the next 10 years.

Unless they do something dumb like our owners and blow it up

Pity parties are for girls. What you said right there is reaching to make your point. It's not that serious, well get it right... if you don't think so then we'll see you later and be here with open arms when you're ready to be a fan again.

I disagree. It is indeed that serious, and we won't need to "look back" to see when they make the proper changes. The FO structure doesn't work. It isn't going to work. When that is fixed,it will be obvious to everyone. The changes after that will be incremental, and require some looking back in retrospect, but until we fix the top, we won't fix the root cause of the issues we have seen ever since the Yorks took over.

I wish the current OL played with Newberry's intensity.

Aqib talib
Peyton manning
Tj Ward
Emmanuel sanders
Demarcus ware
Sb here we come!!!! We need a general manager that isn't stubborn and will overspend for players that we need to provide a championship run or at least be competitive. Having a team with the most salary cap doesn't do anything for the team or the fans.
They also drafted well. And like it or not, Elway is a businessman. Is Steve Young? I love Steve. Still got his white 1995 Jersey that I am dying to get autographed by him. But just because he was great, loves the Niners, does not equate to becoming a stellar GM.
and don't forget Elway already had GM experience before going to the Broncos. feel the same, love Young, but no on him.

We don't have a guy on offense like Newberry or D.Deese. An enforcer who will take anyones block off if they disrespect his teammates. The last guy we had like this on O was Boldin.

Yup, Steve nailed it. He called Kelly's fast paced offense really backfiring without the required talent before the season started too. Said it would probably get ugly, and it did.
I don't see Steve as the GM type, but there's got to be a front office role for a guy like him.
Talking about issues is easy. Removing the issues is a whole different story though.
