I don't really know what we're going to do though. Oregon doesn't have any 6'7"+ DE's this year for us to draft. Has anybody checked the DB's that are going to be available?

I'm scanning the wires for any DBs that are pot fiends, on academic suspension, or have had an ACL...one with all 3 are considered the Golden Trifecta, aka Baalke's Wet Dream.

There's plenty of hurt prospects that Baalke can get excited over.

Well...

When the schedule came out, we sort of predicted we would begin 1-2 (at least I did). How do we end up playing road teams on 10 days rest when we have a short week in Week 2?

-The game against Carolina wasn't nearly as bad as Pitssburgh last year. I would have still liked to see it closer though.
-As much as I would love for the Niners to compete with Seattle, they just can't do it. Not sure what it is, but they just match up really well against us and they were playing at home. As much as I want to blame the offense, Seattle just walked all over our defense in the first half. They were complete 3rd and very long and made it look easy. Positive is that this game was more of a defense and special teams problem.

-Seattle and Carolina are two well-seasoned teams. They are going to give most teams problems, especially one with a shaky QB, new head coach, and youth all over the place.

-OL did great... again!!!

We are going to win the PFF grades Super Bowl trophy. That's a lot more meaningful than the real SB.

Actually, that bold part would turn that scenario into Baalke's nightmare.

His wet dreams come to life when he collects guys with previous injuries, especially ACLs

Good thread, this one and the other 'Positive' thread on the Niners. Yes, things are tough now...actually through Harbaugh's final year up until now. Before Harbaugh, it was very tough during the Erickson-Nolan-Singletary years. No matter what, though, you have to keep the faith is how I look at it. I come from a different generation of Niners fans. Maybe I'm spoiled a little...have seen and can clearly remember each Super Bowl victory. However, when I became a fan at a young age, the team had back-to-back 2-14 years (late '70s). Those were tough times, especially growing up around a lot of Raiders fans here in the East Bay when the Raiders were very good in the '70s.

People can continue to gripe about current ownership and the FO - I get it and if things continue as they are and some of these draft picks don't start producing more, Baalke might be gone before long. However, griping about current ownership/the FO/state of the team is one thing...stating disparaging remarks about this franchise overall is another thing and displays ignorance about it over the course of its entire history. If there were a Mt. Rushmore for NFL franchises, the Niners would be on it IMO...it would be: Steelers, Cowboys, Packers, and 49ers.

For this year and going forward, let's hope many/most of these younger players start showing more to prove they are indeed part of a strong core for the team to build on going forward. Some of these guys who seem to be capable need to really step up, shine, and show they are playmakers. QB, though, is really concerning because that playmaking QB doesn't seem to be on this roster (Gabbert would be a great back-up IMO). I'm really curious to see what the team does going forward to address the QB situation...a trade for someone in the league? Moving up in next year's draft for a guy like Kizer? Something has to happen at the position because a very good-to-great QB can be such a game-changer and, for a younger team like the Niners, would be that needed key foundational piece.

Keeping the faith...always have, always will.

The o-line in pass protection. I thought that the offensive line was going to be trash coming into the year, and would probably get the QB killed. The big uglies have been a nice surprise.
