Why, we are not good a defense?

There's so many answers to that question. But there will always be a huge number 1:

1. Talent

We're just not talented on that side of the ball. Let's go through the D, shall we? Now I want to preface this by saying I'm ranking them on where they stand now. Not on their potential. We gives a crap what their potential is when we're talking about our performance right now. Anyways, here's the roster.

Dorsey- average
Dial- average
Buckner- slightly below average
Armstead- slightly below average
Brooks- average
Bowman- above average/good
Hodges- below average
Harold- far below average
Jimmy ward- slightly above average
Tremaine Brock- average
Eric Reid- slightly above average
Antoine bethea- below average

Bowman is the only member of this defense who can honestly be called good, and even that's becoming a stretch. I give bow the benefit of the doubt though.

Either way, Jim o'neill can't fix this and no d coordinator can totally fix this. The talent just plain isn't there right now.

I think people are forgetting what this team is right now. The reason we look at the D positively is because there's something to be optimistic about. There seems to be some talent to build around in the future. But the key word is future. It's not happening today or tomorrow. This is in contrast to our offense, which is neither good nor has any clear direction for the future. It's just terminally bad.

Brooks was the only one making plays yesterday...He's above average and even though he's getting older, more productive than the young studs we drafted.

when you draft 3 busts in a row, in the first round, that tends to happen.

Well. Why Redmond, Robinson and Iworah didn't play against for Seahawks last night? I saw rare Redmond and Robinson did some play mins. Iworah is bust? .

Reid is not smart to defense and Bethea is bullis**t to play and gave up his himself. . I am be like wtf Cuz our defense look like a high school that 49ers defense were so aweful.. wtf.. do they were joke?!

I think, we had problem with WR when they were wrong for route around then they should penalty for cost. Clerk is brave to play than Vance. Some of WR are scared to Seahawks defense Cuz they hit dirty and hurt us. And Hyde is play well. I know he got 2 TDs but he is too late mins in 4th then easy got 2 TDs. They defense (Seahawks)were soft it.

Our defense is as solid as yogurt offenses shredding us we know who's going to get the ball and we leave them wide open we leave lanes open big enough to drive an eighteen wheeler hauling a mobile home through it. And we act like opposing qbs have cooties and avoid getting close to him at all cost. Yeah we have a solid defense alright

There is talent there...a lot of talent. Look how many of those guys were 1st round picks. Bow was an all pro last year and Brooks surprisingly is playing well and was an all pro just three seasons ago. It's the system that is setting guys up to fail rather than playing to their strengths and putting them in positions to succeed.

IMO, it starts with the D-line and it's musical chairs. I think they would be better off if they let Purcell, Dial and Dorsey concentrate on one position, instead of rotating them in and out at NT and DE. Also hope to see Tank Carradine take on a more full time role, Eli Harold is just not cutting it, one trick pony pass rusher who tries to use his speed to get to the QB but gets driven outta the play most of the time. And Bethea, this guy just seems to be so lost out there, honestly I thought he looked much better in Mangini's defense. And Tramaine Brock, a few thoughts come to mind when thinking about him, boxed out and over powered. Seriously bigger receivers just seem to abuse Brock, I've seen him get picked on over and over with him giving up catches and big plays over and over.

But , did u see how tall AA and DB are?? Awesome
