Not a good defense because the NFL is a passing league and 49er DB's couldn't cover their behinds with both hands.
Pass rush non-existent.
Going to be a long season watching opposing QB's torch 49er DB's for 300 and 3TD each game.

The passrush is the major problem. People are very high on Lynch, yet I do not see him as a premier passrusher, to me he is a younger Brooks, a #2 passrusher with 6-9 sacks.
I do hope that I'm wrong, and that he is this 10+ sacks year in, year out guy.

DeForest Buckner is still inconsistent and Mike Purcell offers no pressure. Brooks and Bethea are old and slow, both should be benched(Brooks only when Lynch comes back). Also the lack of production of our offense forces our defense to stay on the field.

We don't know which Lynch will return and He's not a game changer, just our best rusher...........which isn't saying much....No one has stepped up yet, so Lynch is all we got.

They shutout one QB. Is it really all that smart to judge a pass defense facing the MVP on a short week on the road.

Our Defensive coordinator, was only a DC for one season prior to coming here. He worked under a defensive minded coach, and was more of an assistant DC, much like Bodkins is more Kelly assistant than the actual OC. This is really his first season as a full-fledged DC, he will have some growing pains, hopefully he has more good games than bad, and becomes a solid coach for us, right now, a little shaky, but I like most of what I see.
