What happened to Glenn Dickey?

I remember reading a book he wrote in the late '90s, early '00s about the 49er Dynasty years.... Man, the amount of insight he had, it was like he was in the room the entire time with Eddie D, Carmen Policy, Walsh, Seifert, Joe, Steve, etc. Who if anybody is a spiritual successor to him, and will there be a book ten years from now that will detail the Jed York era in such fine eloquence and accuracy?

Years ago after a game at candlestick we were chilling at the tailgate and here comes Glenn stumbling around trying to find his car. He was hammered. I was like "Hey Glenn! Love your work!" He gave us a wave and a mumbling thank you or something and then stumbled off into the darkness to find his car. lol
