I wonder if this staff might be much more creative in where guys play and how the schemes work. Some analysts believe Blair could be a LB, Tartt could be a LB, Carradine has moved to OLB...the team has a great many versatile athletes. Theus is thought to be a better OG candidate than a OT. That would make him a very valuable all around OL.

Brooks at ILB might make sense but I believe Hodges offers a better alternative...better in coverage.

Agree on Hodges. He had a reputation for being a good coverage linebacker for Minnesota. Struggled in that regard last year, but who didn't? Seemed like everyone but the opposition was confused by Mangini's coverage schemes.

Ultimately my favorite player in all this is Tartt. Been mentioned many times before, but Tartt will most likely play more of a factor than whoever "starts" next to Bowman. Nickel defense is the new base defense in today's league.
Seems like the team places a premium in versatility now on both sides of the ball. I'm fascinated by how everything will play out and expect some surprising developments.
Any chance of Kap as WR or TE?

He's got better rushing stats than most of our RB's and you'd have DC's losing their freaking minds. :D

I've been wishing for this since August.

They might have taken a shot at Jack if they hadn't whiffed on Lattimore. Just as well though, get the surer thing!

Kap has unique talent and skill, Chip should line him at WR, RB or TE just to create match up issues.
Hayne and Iworah, PR and KR
Ellington full time WR
Dial, NT
Tartt and Ward, starters, Reid & Bethea backups
Blake Bell, goal line quarterback

dial sucked at NT. Best used as a DE

I hope you arent serious about Tartt Ward starting over Reid Bethea. But dont worry all 4 will get valuable time every game

Blake Bell as a goal line QB could work but im wondering if we will run Driskel at that...

Driskell's not a great running QB, he's a QB who is great at running on a track. Having him running QB draws and QB dives is kinda what screwed up his decision making and footwork at Florida.

While I kinda like the idea of dusting off the ole belldozer, he has a lot on his plate already trying to convert to tight end at the NFL level. Throwing something else at him could be overwhelming.

I'd like to see them move the rookie Prince to KR/PR. Dude can fly.
i guess Dial with Armstead and Buckner to start the season until Ian is hopefully recuperated
Players are already talking about how well Miller is doing from a TE position.

Hey, I'm all for it.. since we gonna pay him 11 million blunder, why not ask if he would not mind playing a little "Slash & Crash" for us..
