I think Baalke will draft OG Garnett, or someone like him, a big man who can move and thrive in the ZBS. He wants big WR's who can run...they already signed Eric Rogers, who fits that mold. I also think DeAndre Smelter fits that mold. They'll likely draft another similar. They re-signed Draughn, a versatile RB who's an excellent receiver out of the backfield. Kelly likes his backfield, with Hyde & Co. I'd expect JuJuan Harris to thrive in that offense. I anticipate Baalke drafting a QB like Prescott...again, a big man who can beat you with his arm and legs.
On defense, DC O'Neil plans to employ a relentless defense, which leads me to believe/hope they land Buckner. It's critical they reform a front 3 who can set the tone for the rest of the defense. I know they've done a lot of research on Vernon Butler...another guy I'd love to see in our DL rotation. They'll draft a LB to compete for a starting position. They'll likely add a pass rusher, possibly a S if they trade Bethea and probably a CB. The key to a relentless defense is an imposing DL...many good things result from that.
ST's should also be strong...they dipped some last year, do STC Swinton will need to shore that up. Again, guys who can run will be strong candidates to improve ST's.

If Baalke and the owners kid go in this direction I cry uncle

Having a winning formula in the NFL is difficult. When the right coach comes along and the team starts to win you don't mess with it. The 49ers did just that by firing Harbaugh snd then hiring a coach who had no business calling the shots on game day. In some circles that is defined as a death wish. However, I'm a 49er fan and Chip is the X-factor. Chip will get into a power struggle with Baalke and this time Trent packs his bags.

No but it certainly didn't hurt them. If you look at most of the top teams, their rise was keyed by guys taken early in the draft.
Building through the draft is still the best way to go and this wasn't going to be a playoff team next year no matter what they did so if they just opted to stand pat, basically tanking, getting the highest pick they can get in a draft which looks to be elite talent rich at the top and then throwing some money around in extending players and FA, I'd be down with that if that is what they are doing.
