During the Harbaugh era we were basically looked at as a ball controlling, low turnover, low scoring, grind it out team. While we did achieve a great deal of success, it was some of the most frustrating and stressful 49er games I've watched. Trying to "sit on leads" and run out the clock as soon as we are ahead is maddening! I hope that the Chip Kelly era is similar to the Saints SB season. High powered offense, with a defense that is "bend but not break" causing a lot of turnovers.

This! Tired of watching our crappy offense sputter through games while our defense carries the load.... We have to be in year 12 of bottom half of the league in scoring... I am so done with this "stout defense, let's carry our crappy offense through games" we have had for the last 12 years...

I've alwalys like the idea of Lawrence Taylor's "lets go out there like a bunch of crazy dogs and have some fun" kinda defense... for years, the U did it that way, and those guys brought in cockiness and swagger that's never seen before.

Good god almighty. Yea guys lets just get rid of our best o linemen. The one best suited because of his athleticism. For that matter lets get rid of bowman. We will never be an imposing d cause he's to short will never scare a qb....

Denver and Carolina both showed how important tough defenses are...not long ago the Niners were one of the top defenses in the league and need to return to that stature. The sooner they do, the sooner they'll be a perennial playoff team.
