I think there's a misunderstanding some new users don't understand is that, Chip will not have control of player management otherwise Balkkee would not have hired him.

Read the question boys, balkee name is actually in the question, and I am sure a s**t that they would communicate about the decisions on player beng cut or held.

Sorry mate. I changed that after this comment. They were right.
Devey
Pears
Simpson
Bethea
Patton
McDonald

Restructure/extend:only to create more cap for this season for right fit talent only:
Brooks
Kap
Bowman
Staley

If we restructure right we can have 50-55 million cap to spend on free agents..

No need to get aggressive Mr Aussie, what I simple stated as I have in previous posts in this thread is that chip Kelly will NOT have complete control of player management otherwise he would destroy our team like he ruined the eagles.

However I think Chip Kelly will definitely tell baalke which players he thinks are appropriate for his scheme, but baalke will have the final say on which players to pick up and which players to cut that is his job. What do you not understand?

I thought that without doing any restructuring we had around 50-55 million?

My fault. He missed the title change.

$39 mil according to sportrac

Players I'd cut/trade/elect not to re-sign:
OL Alex Boone
OL Jordan Devey
OLB Ray Ray Armstrong
ILB Michael Wilhoite
RB Kendall Gaskins
RB Reggie Bush
TE Vance McDonald
WR Jerome Simpson
WR Anquan Boldin
S Antoine Bethea

Notes: OG Thomas and Silberman both will have another year under their belts, plus I'm sure we'll add more depth, so I don't think losing Boone will hurt us much. Losing Devey will only help us. McDropall had a better year, but Celek is simply better than him and Bell has loads of untapped potential. Boldin is aging and I'd rather have a young core with more upside and speed. Smelter will be ready and Smith can be the veteran leader. Bethea is a good player, but Tartt and Ward I think showed he can handle the SS spot. Personally I think we should use Tartt and Ward like the Cardinals used Mathieu and Bucannon.

$50+ mil without restructuring anything.

Their numbers are offen off. They also dont count carryover.

From Niners Nation.

Our man Jason Hurley has the 49ers currently looking at $54 million and change in cap space for 2016, but that is a fluid figure as the new league year approaches.

I could easily see this happening. I would like to retain Boldin and Bethea for leadership but agree they may be more a drag than a boon. As for Boone, Devey, Pears (I'll add him), and Wilhoite, the niners should be able to upgrade all those spots.

Thanks Phoenix, I looked for this on Jason's site but couldn't find the final number. Probably not looking at the correct pages.

This could very realistically happen, but I could retain 2 players it would be Boldin and McDonald.

Why in the world would you keep brooks? Hes played awful this year. There is no way I want him on this team any longer by restructuring his deal.

And we currently have $53 million in cap space with cutting anyone

Brooks was one of the only players who showed fire and he was never great just solid and I still think he can be solid for another 2 years with a better Dline. Besides he'll be cheap.
