Only 4 running plays in his offense?--

The inside and outside zone reads have an option element to them. I don't think he's had a QB to threaten defenses on that element yet.

That article is referencing being found out based on averages 35 ypg on the ground in the first 2 games. Well in the final 14 games they averaged around 120 ypg on the ground. That's a pretty good average.

It is concerning though how Kelly does give away some of his plays based on formation. He did that in college as well. I did read an article though that he's fine with that because in his opinion it can get the defense to overplay these type of plays. Personally, I'm not in favor of have a bunch of tells in an offense in the NFL.

Here are some examples of other chip Kelly passing concepts.

This is a double curl-flat with a TE hook over the middle. This was referred to as "Hank" in the old school WCO.

Here is an example of The same concept from the 1994 49er play book
This play right here has a Drive concept coupled with an angle or Texas route out of the backfield.

Here is a similar play from 1994's playbook
Here is a play where Chip is using a dagger concept.

Here is an example of the dagger concept from Mike Holmgren's playbook in 1999
Here is a spot concept from Chip. The spot concept consists of a corner route, a flat route and a snag/curl/return route. With these routes you get a triangle stretch

Here is an example from the 1994 niners playbook.

Here's a smash concept coupled with a double slant/post concept

Here's a little 1985 Bill Walsh flavor...you can see the concept is the same, just running it from a base formation

Here's a 2002 Mike Shanahan play that contains a double slant/post look

This is a good read. Long as hell, but states many interesting points. I've seen plays where he deviates from his tendency to run to the opposite side of where the RB is lined up, by running to the same side the RB is lined up, but it's not often. The biggest takeaway I got from that writeup is how Chip thinks his scheme is better than the defense. Seems like a college way of thinking.

Hopefully getting fired humbles him a bit and gets him thinking in more of a pro mindset. It remains to be seen.

Confidence or arrogance?
