I am not a fan of the Tampa 2 Defense, but I feel like it will do him wonders in the perception department and in attracting players to come here if his DC was Lovie Smith and his OC was Pep Hamilton. Plus, we could do and have done a lot worse with our coordinator hires in the past.

I was talking with a co-worker yesterday about having Lovie Smith on our staff. There are some talented coaches out there.

Hell no to Lovie Smith. He'll bring a 4-3 Cover2 defense in. That's a total scheme overhaul that will jerk the youngsters on defense around.
DC Pettine or Tim Lewis. Reid is advocating for Lewis and I think it's worth a shot. He has had successful defenses and the cornerbacks played very good this year as well. But, who knows. I'll even take Lovie. Not sure he comes here though.

I want Scott Frost, Oregon's offensive coordinator. Schematically, I think Oregon's offense got better and more diverse when Kelly left.

He is the HC at UCF.

I think he has to get a big time DC in here. Would love it to be Mike Pettine.

Hope for the sche to stay as close to what it is as possible.

Pettine is gettin a lot of love. Dont know much about him...whats his deal?
Kelly's coaching staff is what will make or break him.

Good DC, runs a scheme similar to Fangio, had success with the Jets and Bills.

Not really. He is the offensive staff.

Offensive staff isn't what I'm worried about.

With the NY Jets as DC from 2010-2012 seasons. 2010 - 3rd ranked defense, 2011 - 5th ranked defense, 2012 - 8th ranked defense

With Buffalo in 2013 10th ranked defense.

His defenses in that time ranked top 10 in pass defense

+1. I'd be happy with Pettine or Ed Donatell (not sure if he'd want to come back).
