Bamas oline is the best in the draft imo. Georgia next.
Wouldn't mind nabbing one of them with the overall.
I'd be egstatic.

One game...but he played unbelievably better at G than he did at C. Its very possible that is his true position.

I've always thought that his best fit was at guard, by far.

Anthony Davis is an absolute mauler along with Tiller so they will have some trouble unless Chipper tweaks his scheme.
Davis played in a zone blocking scheme in college. He actually doesn't move that badly, losing weight from where he was before would help.

I agree with some that a slimmed down A Davis could be a great fit in the ZBS
Evan Mathis and Chris Chester are a couple of FA vets that could be brought in the hold the fort alongside Kilgore until some young guys are ready.
I also like Ryan Kelly in the 2nd or 3rd. Also Christian Westerman in the 3rd or 4th.

I'm watching some film from Chip's Eagles and he asks a lot out of his guards in the run game. Pulling to lead sweeps - even the Center will pull on sweep plays.
This isn't a ZBS play, but interior OL nowadays aren't going to pull this off without having the traits of a ZBS linemen - being agile.
Both the RG and the C pull to lead the sweep.

LG will reach block the 1tech (#95).

The RG and C get to the edge and now are asked to block in space.

+13 yards. I don't think I've seen a 49er Center pull in the past 3 years.

Sweep Left with the LG and Center pulling. I didn't know Chip called the sweep as part of his run scheme.

Love Mack, would love to have him. I was with you back then... no one wanted an interior lineman that high. He was worth it.
I love the modified toss sweep that Kelly runs. The pulling C is his wrinkle on the Lombardi classic.

I remember Jesse Sapulo pulling for sweeps and John Madden raving about how athletic a Center had to be to do it.I can only imagine it being more difficult nowadays with how defensive front 7 players are more athletic.

Nice. We need fast and athletic OL to run sweeps.

Thl408, thanks for highlighting this. It sounds like when he lost Evans and the other G, his running game fell apart, and thus struggled in the passing game especially without the "threat" of a mobile QB.
In talking with WRATH he was impressed with Tiller's abilities especially the last two games pulling and blocking at the second level (i.e. reach block on stretch plays). I wonder if Thomas is now a better fit. Fit Kilgore's strengths better?
Either way, FA is the way to go for both C and G especially if Davis comes back (he played in zone himself and he and Brown can battle).
BTW: He felt Boone was the weakest of the lot. I agreed. I hope I didn't misinterperate anything he said.

Davis played in a ZBS in college so he may fit ok.
