We ave to at least make the attempt. Considering we have 11 picks and most are at the top of each round, I don't think its unrealistic to expect three immediate and regular contributors out of this draft even if we take Goff with the first pick and he sits the entire season. I am truly a favor of the Bill Walsh plan of developing a QB. The draft isn't just one pick, which is something the people clamoring for O'Dell Beckham seem to forget.

Exactly. And what's worse? We improve the team by some slight extent and move up to the middle of the pack, only then realize we need a proper QB. Oops, how are we supposed to do that then? The Redskins had to give Rams 3 x 1st and 1 x 2nd to move up from 6th to 2nd. If we end up in the teens, which means it will cost even more to move up to get that legit QB at the top of the 1st, basically meaning we won't be able to.
To add, many people fear Tomsula wouldn't know what to do with a QB and I agree with that. But if he isn't fired this year, he is surely gone after the 2016 season. If we hire a bright offensive mind, it would be great if they already had a franchise QB going forward.

Plus, we don't really expect the rookie to start in his first year anyway.
What about kaep for rg3 straight up

Don't waste time nor money.

For what reason? Doesn't make any sense. All of the criticisms of Kaep can be applied to RG3 and then some. Plus, most fans aren't ready to have a QB like RG3. They feel more comfortable with a prototypical pocket QB, no matter how s**tty he is like Glennon.

How about we send a draft pick to New England for Jimmy Garoppolo

What kind of draft pick? I doubt they would let him go, but if they did he would be expensive. I like Garoppolo and was hoping Baalke would draft him 2 years ago.

And what if they flop? Ive been kind of amused at how people are assuming that only QBs flop. Any one you pick can be a bust or a marginal player, no matter the hype.

What doesnt change is that this team needs a QB and the talent at the top of this draft looks to be quite a bit better than the talent at the top of the 2017 draft.

So unless your strategy is to ignore the QB position for 2 more years, then spend another 2-3 years developing a QB, I think they need to add someone early in this draft, Tomsula or not. He won't be here for long but having a young QB to at least get them familiar with the NFL and playing behind center is important.

I see three perfectly good prospects in Goff, Lynch and Wentz that would be highly rated in most drafts but get a lot of undue criticism because neither is the out of the box, dynamic, ready to start Week 1 can't miss type of prospect.

Highly talented QBs in their own right but guys that are better off not starting right away.

Too true
Retain Gabbert for one more season. Draft Lynch, Cook, or Goff. Sit him for a season to learn. Let Gabbert bridge the new Qb for 2017.

this makes prefect sense. Brady says he wants to play for another 10 years. Not fair to Jimmy g. Patriots would send him to a non conference team. Send a second rounder for him. He's ready to start. No need to teach. He's learned under Brady.

If the Colts lets their coach go, do you think Luck would stay after his contract expires?

What Brady wants and what actually happens are two entirely different things. Age catches up to everyone sooner or later and with Brady at age 39 to start next season, he'll be done sooner rather than later.

When guys start to fall off, it usually happens pretty fast. Lots of older stars across all sports feel as if they can keep playing on and on but eventually age gets even the healthiest guys, the mind might be sharp as ever but the body stops being able to comply.

If AJ McCarron does well in the playoffs for the Bengals Andy Dalton will be available he is already a free agent at the end of this season

You seemingly missed the part where he got a hefty extension from the Bengals last year.
