Kaepernick is in his 5th NFL season and still struggles at the basics of quarterbacking and lacks the IQ for the position, that won't change.

He does not. He struggles at lack of protection. When there is no protection there is no quarterback. I think we're seeing that today continuing as a trend.
We get it. You hate kap. That's fine. Hopefully the people making the decisions don't take your opinion into account.
Gabbert was so BAD before that these mediocre performances are a vast improvement for him. This is his ceiling right here.
We know what Kap's is if the team is actually pretty decent around him.

The things you excused and blamed kap for all season long are the same things happening NOW.
all season we should have run play action passes and boots but DIDN'T for some odd reason lol. Cause kap should play from the pocket exclusively but Gabbert should be moved around to be protected? Make sense? Nope.

Line can't block. Wr's running open and not getting the ball. Locking on to 1 receiver. The only difference is that Gabbert checks down immediately sometimes before the play has even developed. And most times he's throwing it to where his presnap read was whether it's the right decision or not as we just saw with that almost interception

The line problems have been worse than this. And we were playing WAY BETTER competition too.
We didn't get to play the falcons and the bears and the browns.

This is all I'll say about this situation i guess.

49ers defense has played well enough for us to be in the game. gave us plenty of chances.

Offense has been PUTRID for the same reasons it was putrid when Kap was under center period.
