Its a deep draft at tackle so they dont necessarily have to take one in the first round. The difference I think is that in the later rounds youre drafting for a starter at right tackle where Tunsil and Stanley are both franchise type left tackles.

exactly , it seems this staff is afraid to pull the trigger on any changes, they wait too damn long to make adjustments, and if this is the way the coaching staff is going to work, we are doomed if they decide to keep them next season, and obviously a lot of first year coaches have rough patches, but this staff appears to be way over their heads, and lack the skills to assess what the team needs to get better , because a lot of us are just plain sick of the "we didn't execute" or 'we need to make plays" bull$hit, not once have we heard "we didn't plan properly" or "we didn't make the right adjustments" ...and I'm going to be sick if this is going to be the same crap next season

AD is trying to talk his way out of SF, we should severely punish him and make him start for the 49ers on a Tomsula team. That would almost be career ending. No trade or suspension could be worse than that

Even if Davis comes back, I'm all for drafting Tunsil if he's there. He appears to be that type of tackle. Plus I'm on the mindset that Ant should not just be given his starting job back. He has to earn it to me. Staley is a stud, but he's getting up in age. Let's be honest, at times he hasn't look as stellar. I would pencil Tunsil in as our RT, but if he's better than Joe, I'll move him to LT and Joe to RT. No matter what we want to do on offense, you still need horses up front. If we can land a stud in Tunsil, we have to take it. Trent should also eye another Guard and/or Center in rounds 3-5. I know this has been said many times before, but we absolutely have to rebuild the trenches. I for one wouldn't be mad if Trent doubled down on rebuilding those lines.

Can't count on Davis, he could quit in the middle of a game. His talent is without question but who knows where his head is at.

So Davis retires therefore not costing the 49ers money this year while he gets healthy when most players would just go onto IR and cost their team money. But he is a bad guy? For what being concerned about his health? If anything he made a sacrifice to try and help out his team.

As I mentioned before this is just an assumption. He said the same stuff 2 years ago and he signed with Jacksonville.

He is a California guy that has made it clear that he wants out of Cleveland period. If the money is right and its not Cleveland I think he'd go most anywhere.

agreed, we need to develop future starters sooner than later, we don't have coach Mckittrick around anymore to develop late round picks into serviceable starting offensive lineman , ahhh the days of Camelot

Not a bad guy in my book, but I'm not hitching my wagon to him counting on him to be the same guy. Also, not so sure if he could have went to the IR in that manner. Either way, I'm still taking Tunsil if he's there.

He could have retied a lot sooner, he knew he wasn't going to play by not even showing up to camp to practice
