I love how their franchise has roots that goes back to the inaugural NFL season (1920), yet they have 26 fewer wins then we do (556 to 530). They've had 8 double digits win seasons with 11 being the most they've ever won in season.

Despite that, we've always had some head scratching loses to these scrubs ('88, '92 & '11 come to mind). Maybe it's our turn to give them a head scratcher.

That goes both ways, when the 49ers only won 2 games in 2004, both wins were versus the Cards. They haven't won a game @ SF since 2008.

That's a good point about 2004 and they might be due for a win in SF. I just remember blowing a 23-0 lead in '88 and like a 19-7 4th quarter lead vs them in 2011.

Well let's getting Ellington going then? You either let the rules beat you our you use them to your advantage

That would be the answer but he can't even see the field.

I know this blows my mind...boldin is running around on one leg and we can't get him more snaps? I just don't get why they can't use him in the slot? put him in NE and he's catching 8 balls a game.
Game might be a little closer than expected on Sunday. Looking at the Cardinals injuries, they'll be without both Rucker and Redding, and Stinson is questionable, and Campbell is playing through a knee issue. Woodley is now on IR and the team signed Red Bryant. We might be able to establish a little more in the run game.

We do play better at home obviously. But let's see how Armstead, TJE, and Purcell do -- they'll all be heavy contributors now with Dorsey out.

Not personal on you,but consider 49ers are arguably a big brand franchise, and with your status as a HoF poster.

Looking through the comments on this thread, and The best we can say about the next game is we "might" get close to them on the day, but only because the opposition has Lots of injuries.....

Can anyone say with confidence a player in our current team will give us the points we need to win? The kicker does not count

probably not.

Hey guys Cards fan here and I really enjoyed our exchange last time we met. You guys were telling me how badly Carson Palmer sucked and how great Kaep was . LOL.
We are top 5 now in the NFL. It's been building for a couple of years. Our ascent and your decline. At the time I predicted a five win season for you guys. That may be to generous.

I see more of the same Sunday. yes we have injuries. will Patrick Peterson play? I hope not . We need to rest him so he will be ready. You guys have no pass attack and our secondary is deep.
I just hope we dont take you guys too lightly. I'm hoping for a whipping but factoring in the rivalry aspect it will be closer.

Gabbert
Cardinals D bout to get Geep fired.
Go Cards go sack the Gabbert
Going to be another killing. If the Niners can establish any kind of running attack due to the Cards D dinged up we could keep it within 10. But if Gab. is going to have to throw on they're secondary it's over quick. Cards 37- Niners 17. And our quest for the First pick in the draft is going strong.
Arizona Cardinals 30
San Francisco 49ers 16

Recommended Spread Play
Arizona Cardinals -10.5

Wager simulator has the Cards by 14??
I cant believe the difference in interest between the first meeting and now this meeting. San Fran fans have dropped off the face of the earth. I didnt know they were such bandwagoners.

Oh we're still here, we've just been pooped on by our worthless Owner and GM. Oh and when the Birds are One and Done AGAIN in the playoffs, we'll see how long you stick around 49er websites

we suffered for years under bidwill Sr. Now the son is a lot better of an owner. Our history is not as rich as yours nor successful. But I'm sure enjoying our current regime and brand of football. It's exciting and we have the possibility of a championship which is all you can ask for.

The talk all week here is this is a trap game. We've experienced being overconfident going into pittsburgh. Mike Vick had zero offensive yards in the first half and we still lost the game. So hopefully lesson learned. They have been using the fact the cards have not won in san fran since 2008 I believe as a motivator.
