I'm really sorry but this argument is monumentally flawed. Before these games, Hayne had never played a game of American football in his life, ever. Are you suggesting that the guys in these games, who have played junior and then college football, are that hopeless that Hayne making them look stupid has no significance whatsoever. Are you suggesting that 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th stringers are not worthy to be compared against a nobody aussie who has NEVER played a snap of your national game.Really?

Ok im only new to nfl... watched the 7 games and one pre season from my understanding... i think davis needs more time at rb.... poor guy is lost out there among a team of lost players ( not all tho) carlos is technically a 2nd year rookie still and lucky frank gore a 10yr future hof was on the team to learn from....from what i have read on here carlos is frank gore 2.0 and mike davis is carlos 2.0 seems to me that style of rb has worked over the last 10 yrs now ...as for hayne i dont know p/r obviously and a few runs at rb (short passes etc) when hyde/davis are off... maybe once the season is a lost cause i.e not making play offs chuck both in for reps for next year...that way they will know if its worth keeping both hayne n davis or draft a new rb or thru fa

Hayne is better than Davis. Davis has shown nothing in preseason and regular season. Your right he looks lost. He has made mistakes 2 weeks in a row now too. Hayne should be given a real run as RB before Davis. Roger Craig has been calling for this for weeks now.

Your wrong but even if you weren't its not the point. He has already done it several occasions in the real season. Preseason is preseason but it shows the potential of someone. The only way to know is to now give him the time in the actual games. Not 1 or 2 touches a game but a proper game load.
Also you are completely incorrect - In the dallas game it was against the starting ST team - That juke in the gif is against #23 - A starting CB for them and a 4year vet. It was simply great play, great vision and it must be said good blocking.
The exact same as college players get drafted, its only college where the standard is even worse than NFL preseason, but players are scouted on potential. Mike davis has done nothing, did nothing in preseason either, but was great in college so he will get a chance too.
Hayne's problem is not talent, vision, strength or even speed its simply inexperience and the nuances of the game
Good post with context. I'm still fascinated that the view is form in preseason is no indicator of nfl success. All pre season players are college stars. What does that say about form in college? Irrelevant?

Nothing besides 2 fumbles. The only way he can help us and he's done nothing. I'd rather the spot go to someone else.

Basically, this team is atrocious. The oline is hall of fame bad. Throwing the Aussie gem out there to get his face kicked in doesn't make sense. Plus, he fumbles and when given the chance at RB can't pick up the blitz. Australia needs to keep it real,. Maybe going into his 3rd year will we see any return on Investment. So keep him and let him train.

Set up our only score against Arizona - 32 yard return
Has made the 1st down on every carry he was asked too
Has made no rushes for negative yards
Converted a crucial 3&1 on the goaline when the game was in the balance - nearly scored too
zero fumbles from scrimmage - both preseason and regular
A solid 3.4ypc at RB although this is a very small sample
He is 13th in the league with a 9.5 return ave for PR, the rest of the team is 5.8. Beating the wonder boy that is tyler lockett comfortably
The "3" fumbles was more like 1 actual ball security, the other 2 were simply the wrong move caused by inexperience and his first ever touch so was no doubt nervous - not unexpected for a guy playing in their first 10 games EVER. If you expect perfection from a rookie, then you will be sorely disappointed.
Overall he has done quite a bit from extremely limited opportunity when you actually break it down - There is obviously lots to improve on, but to say he has done nothing and doesn't deserve a spot is ignorant at worst and naive at best. If he was cut tomorrow you can bet another team would sign him.

Understand what your saying but the niners seem to have a type of player that has a similar style gore/hyde/davis not sure on hunter by thought he was similar to??? Davis hasnt shown much cause he is 21 in team that isnt playing like a team... hayne yes he lit up pre season because he is a 9 yr vetern of league he knew he had to do that otherwise bye bye, us aussies seem to go on bout give everybody a "fair go".... i wanna see hayne out there trust me im parramatta supporter /hayne fan... think they need to worry about the kap/ o line cohesion first so kap can actually get the ball to torrey, boldin, ellington n Hayne etc etc

I can't believe 20% of folk on this poll want to cut Hayne without even giving him a proper run. That could potentially turn out to be one of the dumbest decisions ever. I mean the guy has already made big plays in preseason and regular season, can take hits, is quick, continually makes guys miss and gains yards. can play multiple roles etc.
Hayne is an elite athlete at an international level, not just some college athlete. Sure that might not translate to NFL star but given his pedigree why rush and cut him ? I've seen stars in other sports take months or even a year or two to hit their straps but were worth the persistance and paid off bigtime later on. Add to that he has been rated by legends like Roger Craig and Jerry Rice as well and you can see he has the potential to offer the team something special going forward given the right training and coaching. Why not give him a decent run to make sure? If he stars its a huge gain for the future, if not you haven't lost anything as the season is already pretty much down the toilet anyway.

Yes, but apart from that, what have the Romans done for us?

Cmon mate that is a really lame response. If you want him dropped from the team or dislike him lets hear your arguments to support this.

Nothing, Christopher Columbus was Spanish.
