Sounds like folks are really happy we didn't get slaughtered at home by a team on a short week, cross country. Oh how far we have fallen in such a short time. My only joy is now being able to suspend my game day rituals. They are completely ineffective on this bunch.

Yes, and Harbaugh did such a great job of preparing him to play QB in this league that now he is......uh.....er....oh, never mind. I guess the Great Quarterback Whisperer was not so great after all.

I think it's unfair to blame Harbaugh really. I think, if anything, Harbaugh was the ONLY guy who could keep Kap playing at a high level. 2014 was a s**t show but Kap wasn't bad. Harbaugh is the same guy that made Alex Smith look like pro bowler (ok...well pro bowl alternate but still lol).

Where was Tartt? I don't remember him even playing.

I don't think he played more than like 10 snaps. Reaser actually came in and played next to Bowman, we went 6 DB's, 3 LB's, and 2 DL probly about 10-12 snaps. Even when Green Bay only had 3wr's on the field. Green Bay had a couple good runs for 1st downs against it, but I actually thought it was decent in stopping their passing attack. So I think Reaser actually got more snaps than Tartt this game. I'm interested in seeing the snap count.

Nice.
Also part of the good is Arizona losing today as well. The division is still up for grabs and atleast our schedule gets a little easier. Until we are eliminated I will hold out hope, I think that's part of being a true fan. If you don't want to stick with your team through the bad, then your not really helping your team any. Now is when you really should support our team, they are still busting their butts in practice every day. It's not like the season is over and we went 1-15, it's still early.

It's pretty sad that our offense's only gameplan for a 3rd and short is to try and draw them offsides.
Good:

I think the coaching staff called a pretty solid game. The defense kept them in the game. The 1st half offensive play calling was pretty solid . . . execution couldn't get more than 3 points though.

Lynch obviously had a nice game. It's nice for someone in the front 7 to finally break out this season. We lost a lot of talent up there (and Bowman's not the same yet), so it's good to see the next generation rise.

The corners did a nice job (specifically Acker/Ward). Some brain farts in terms of positioning, but those are growing pains in figuring out Mangenius' system. The talent is there and they showed it today.

Patton had that nice run. Might've been the first time he flashed playmaking ability.

Hyde's stiff arm of Raji was pretty beastly.

Bad:

Pinion had a bad day. I chalk this up to growing pains. He did have one boomer and will get more consistent.

Ugly:

Reid looks like a shell of himself. Not sure if he's confused or what. Took a terrible angle when Rodgers scrambled to the 1. Missed arm tackle on Lacy. I wonder if the latter is due to his concussion-avoidance tackling technique. Hopefully this is just a matter of Reid figuring the system and when he can fly to the ball.

McDonald had a bad game. Part of this could be QB play, but he was sloppy.

In the 1st half, the defense kept GB in check. Geepus called a nice game with runs, read options, tricks, and simpler pas plays. The protection was alright in the 1st half too. But Kaep wasn't executing on the pass plays. Maybe the film review will be more favorable, but Kaep seems lost, even when executing the vanilla stuff. The good news is the franchise will probably give him all of this season to see if he can qb at a franchise level.

Summary:

The way I see it, the org likely knew this was going to be a rebuilding year. The coaches are trying to develop the talent they have for the next window of contention.
The defense had a nice showing this week. They need more talent on the front 7 and need to figure out Mangini's pass defense scheme. But there were signs of talent andimprovement.
The offense is a different story. There's no question that the OL needs to improve. They held firm in the 1st half, so hopefully our two OL coaches are starting to get through. The main thing I saw was that Kaep isn't a pocket passer now. Maybe he'll get better, or not. Geepus kept things simple in the 1st half when we were only down 7 at most, but Kaep couldn't execute. Maybe he's just got a mental block right now. We still have 12 more weeks to find out.
1-15 here we come. Cant see another win with this bunch. Dissension will start to set in after Odell shreds the secondary in prime time.

i think we need to bench reid for tart or ward. he is terrible this year
The ol must hate kap, they cop so much flack but I swear Rodgers had less time than kap today. Kap and the playbook are at LEAST as guilty as the o line imho.
The Bad - Understanding of hot routes. If Rodgers can get a ball out and in stride in .34 seconds how good does the OL have to be? If your OL can't protect it requires some creativity. We showed this creativity when the ZBS looked like Kap's best friend vs Minn but we just couldn't establish any running game through Hyde. Teams are pinning their ears back from the start.

teams been pinning their ears back for last 10+ years facing us. Gore has seen the most stacked boxes out of any backs in that era. with both Alex and Kaep team did, do and will challenge the qb to make plays and their #1 priority is always to shutdown the run game

the run game is a litmus of how we do on offense. if we can run the ball, we'll muster some drives together. if we have to pass to consistently sustain drives, forget about it. no run game threat= teams not biting on playaction = having to dissect offenses with finesse passing.

I'm disappointed kap doesn't know the playbook better, know where each receiver is every moment of his route. Also sad too that kap was known to have accuracy issues, yet he took what, 17 (YES , SEVENTEEN) snaps in PS? the guy who needed it most? this is like last yr , trying to figure out if gabber is a good #2. But kap is the one needing the work. Bad coaching decision there guys.

I think in retrospect, that it would have been nice if kap had spent all that extra time not in the weight room, but in the study room, going over every receiver's routes, etc. NO question kap did not know the WR routes well enough to throw on the break. And once he started staring someone down, the game is over.

How do you know until he gets a decent go at it? Can't be any worse than Hyde and co in the last 3 games. Time to shake things up because its not working the way things are.
