First – I'm NOT trying to steal Marvin's thread! 2nd – He's an Expert and I'm NOT. 3rd – His take is insightful analysis after re-watching the games. 4th – My thread is to capture first impressions, emotions and opinions – that's why the title - to get quick takes. Years ago I lived in Squaw Valley and would watch the games in Pete & Peters in Tahoe City drinking Jaegers and beers & cheering Joe, Jerry, Ronnie and Steve with my Buddies. Now I want to get the same first impressions, emotions and opinions from my new Buddies in the Zone! If you feel offended – DON'T Read it like I do w/ everything sus writes. Don't give it the time of day. THE GOOD: Navarro - Dust off Superman's cape – He's back! WOW Pinnion Not a lot else. THE BAD: If our coaches are trying to hide what we'll be doing in the regular season – they're doing a great job. The Oline was a mess. They seemed totally disjointed, and I'm being kind. I'll leave it to the experts like NC, Phoenix, Marvin & others to see exactly what went wrong. Pears is as slow as old people fornicate. [Solution – Boone] The DLine got worked over. THE UGLY: Plenty! Go for it!

C- Looney/Kilgore
RG- Marcus Martin
RT Boone

Better than what we got going right now. I'd go a step further and do this:

Staley--Thomas--Martin/Kilgore--Boone--Brown

The problem is not just Pears at RT, it's the C/RG combo. I like moving Boone back at RG and pairing him with Brown, Thomas paired with Staley. Center can be whoever, I'll go with Martin until Kilgore gets back.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who mentioned that. It just seemed a very un-aware play that really shouldn't happen in real games to vets. Really inexcusable to not fall forward for super easy first down.

He tried to get out of bounds cause we only had 1 time out left. Not excusing it but that was the thought process. BTW just rewatched the 2 minute drill. Jordan Devey replaced Ian Silberman with the rest of the 1st team o-line and did a good job pass blocking. Silberman's a better run blocker though.

Anybody else bothered by that personal foul call on Boldin? I thought it was a turrible call. Seen that allowed all the time This is football. Nobody has a problem with that same type of block on an INT return, why not on a reception?

The ugly
Whatever coaches decided to start Pears at RT. I'll lose all confidence in the offensive staff if he's starting week 1. Martin gets pushed backwards everytime on passing downs

The bad
Man Dial and Carradine got pushed all over the place

Dontae in the slot CB position.

The good
Bowman

I like how John Lynch basically blamed Omar Boldin on that hit for not paying attention to his surroundings.

I thought the same thing. Also thought Tomsula should have called TO. We only had one left but Kap was gassed. You could see it. Next play was at Boldin feet and Kap still looked gassed.

And the play clock was close to being delay of game a couple of times. Tempo, Tempo, Tempo!

Lynch knows whats up, he played safety. Clean hit, even if it was by a WR.

The refs have it out for Boldin. I'm convinced he's on their s**t list, because he's been penalized for b******t a few games now.

Pears is all Jimmy T. That's his guy from NFL Europe. That has to stop. Dude is overmatched and should be challenged by Brown. No doubt Brown would show more ability on the field and win the job if given the chance. Pears was handed the job.

Must be that number. Manninghan always did the same s**t

Just poor understanding of the situation. It was 3rd down and we had a timeout. Not a big deal, but you'd like to see a $40 mil vet make the right decision.

Good post. I don't think Devey should be overlooked, he started a few games for the Patriots last year, as it is he's probably the most experienced candidate for RG.

agreed with this as well- we did get a delay of game once. with all this emphasis you would think we wouldn't get them now

although the umptempo stuff, Im a bit less excited with after this game. simply because while uptempo is good, if we go through many 3 and outs (and we very well might), it will kill our defense. we have to sustain drives to give D rest while uptempo. those molasses drives under harbs kept our D rested.

They also shortened games, meaning fewer total possessions, and closer games.

I don't think we can match teams possession for possession, point for point if the offense looks likes this.

tempo isn't hurry up.
its getting to the line, checking into the right play, calling the right protections and then running the play.

last season it was hurry up and line up and then snap the ball no matter what the defense is running because you don't have time to see if its right or not.
