The reason I'm asking is because Bowman said in a recent interview it takes him about 2 hours to get ready for practice or a game. The stretching, massaging of the knee etc. All former players who've had this injury most recently Rodney Harrison have stated that 2 hours to warm up is not good and that he's rushing back. Correct me if I'm wrong but he's been out 19-20 months how can he be rushing? Anyways, have you all ever heard of someone returning from an ACL needing 2 hours before practices/games to be ready? I'm hoping he's being overly cautious and maybe doing extra work that will have him being back to himself. Thoughts?

If he had his way he'd be playing more. Its the coaches being cautious and i don't blame them.

Yes PFT and co are garbage, however I saw a quote from bowman in one of our local papers after he was interviewed. He said the 2 hour warm up stuff himself. I'm still trying to locate the article.
No.

2-hour warm-up or not, the time is now for him to get back on the field. It's been 19 months since the injury. What's he going to do, not play football for 2 and 1/2 years?

That's just something he has to go through to play. It's not going to hinder him on the field. As time goes on and the knee strengthens, it won't take nearly as long to get the knee ready. The knee may never be the same, but he should be back to near 100% on the field.

Those 3 plays against Dallas tells us all we need to do. The guy is back and going 100 mph, no restrictions.

Quite normal for a serious knee injury. The time will eventually go down, but he'll always need to prep the knee for the rest of his career.
One thing, I don't want to see him do very much in the upcoming practices with Denver. That would be like 3 straight days of contact including the game; too much IMO but mostly because the aggression level is going to be significantly higher between teams than at regular practice in SC.
This has and is being discussed in the Bowman thread.
the two hour warm up is all mental for him, the injury is still in the back of his mind.

he just needs to get out there and get comfortable again
There hasn't seemed to be any set backs in practice.

Maybe all these other guys that are tearing their ACL should be warming up a little more. It could be as simple as the training staff saying "Hey, lets just be cautious and stretch out, warm up, slowly". Part of it is probably Bowman over-stating it a little. There is 0% chance he sits there for 2 full hours stretching.
Was watching Ian williams mic'd up and I noticed that when bowman made his first tackle he made a STRONG effort to not let his injured knee hit the turf. Looked really awkward but it's just part of the process. As for your question idk. I haven't really looked up other injured players and their journey back from injury.
Yeah great thread, we should brinh him back in 5 years, he shoulda be ready by then
I saw an interview with Bowman where he said he's just being extremely cautious
