Torrey Smith is a huge upgrade over Crabtree. Let's just say he gets the same number of catches as Crabtree did last year, 68. Crabtree averaged 10 yards a catch. Smith would have to average 15 yards a catch to break 1000 yards, which he has, every year he's been in the league.

I thought I remember them being 4 wide on that play

It was 11 personnel. Hyde, Vance, Patton to one side. AB and Torrey on the other.

To the OPs question, I expect Boldin to out produce TS on all fronts, ie catches, yards, and TDs. TS and Kaep aren't showing that great of rapport early in camp, and Kaep has never played with a WR quite like TS. TS greatest benefit will be loosening up the defense with his vertical speed. He won't need to produce so much himself, but he will get others open. He could catch 3 or 4 passes a game and be effective for us. Really excited to see how a true deep threat will impact VDs production. He should get better looks this season. Also the run game will benefit from TS, with less crowded boxes. Again, TS should be a game changer, but it won't always show up in the stat line.

Actually.....throw red lighted to an open Boldin because of a pretty nice play by the hou defender #95, kap begins to look at the spot on the backside, but the window had already closed, WR QB scramble routes ensue, kap reverses field and throws the ball out of bounds....lives on to fight another play.

Boldin will because of Smith stretching the field.

The 9ers are going to have two 1K yard receivers as they try to get back to the running game? Good luck with that.

All you have to do is replay the SB, both killed us. If the OL holds up this could be a very interesting offense.
