Trying to be optimistic about Simpson but reality tells me he's just another guy that has the ability to help, but with just be inactive week after week.

So he won't play this Thursday? Damn, was hoping to see him out there against Seattle. Two speed guys. Sherman, Thomas and Chancellor will be yelling at themselves all game.

Makes sense. Gotta make sure he's up to speed with the game plans (suspension has meant he's been away from the team, IIRC), and with the short week it would be a bit much to ask to have him to play Thursday night.

Didn't even know that was possible. Can we go to a 57 man roster with 50 being active on game days? It only makes sense NFL.

The exemption would allow him to practice but not play, basically he's on the 53 man roster but he's not.

Yeah...it is basically letting him come to practice but deferring the decision on who he will replace for a week because there is zero chance he could be ready to play. It is not uncommon and should be approved unless someone has it in for us.
