This the nature of the NFL. We were spoiled with that ridiculous 15+ year run of 10+ wins. It just doesn't happen anymore in the era of free agency, unless you have a 1st ballot HOF QB on your roster. This is the cycle of the team in decline, but it will rise back up again.

We had our window of time, and while I think it has closed temporarily, you never know how things are going to play out. Maybe our first and second year guys will shock and become Pro-Bowlers. You never know.

In the end, I think the team ends up 5-11, and gets the 4th pick in the draft. You are going to get a helluva good player to work with, along with other guys selected earlier in each round.

Except for the last part, I agree, I think we have good players, but the key is the coaches, adjusting and making the right calls.
All I ask is before we talk about the fall of the niners... can we please f*cking fall first?
f**k everyone that doesn't believe in this team. We're still making the playoffs this season!

No, it's way more fun for the "realists" to root for failure, just so they can be proven right. And when they're wrong, they retreat to the parking lot until something else comes along to blame Baalke or Jed for.

So you didn't keep up with last year, the off-season, and today? The niners already fell and fell hard.

Telling the truth is trolling? They fell from a Super Bowl team, NFC Championship game team to not making the playoffs. They lost 3 of their top defensive players, a young stud MLB, a stud run blocking guard, A very good Right Tackle, and hired a coach no other team in the NFL wanted. But we know more than other NFL teams because we have hired great coached before? Lol
This will make a great 30 for 30 in a few years.

We had a .500 season in a year with a ton of injuries and a stubborn offensive coaching staff. That is not a fall. We have no idea what we have right now. It's not looking good, especially after today, but no games have been played yet. Calm down.
i commend all of the uber positive fans who have a good to great feeling about the upcoming season. but they also cant try to smash to hard on those of us who arent overly positive about this season. could we surprise? of course its possible. but you cant deny looking at all of the evidence that it has most of the tell tale signs of a team in decline before its ready to make strides again.

Injuries are a given, we will probably have some this year, on top of the starters we already lost. Im just upset with this Aldon news. His fault, but I was expecting him to have a monster contract year and he was going to be a reason that the defense was going to be really good. I just want the games to start. My bad.

I understand that at this point, but the annoying thing was this avalanche started the day Harbaugh was let go. At that point there was no reason for people to lose their minds, but since then there has been so much irrational bashing of Jed and Baalke that I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.
how can you people still support harbaugh after he gave us our first loss in Super Bowl history ....2 put in c Rodgers in the 2013 nfc ..championship game when cox was playing some much better ...then would not fire a oc who was to stubborn & cute for his own good...I know you win Super Bowl in the off season especially on paper ...we did play without Aldon last year .....a great talent but a head case .....this could be the new chapter of the book of (ELI)

I didn't realize we were setting the league on fire pre Harbaugh. Like him or hate him he made us winners for a period of time. One of the best teams in the league.

I still can't believe how fast we fell

I have mad respect for teams like New England and Seattle
