A couple of years ago, Cam almost got his coach fired and there were trade rumors galore. If Kap had won that Superbowl, we wouldn't be having this conversation despite last season's performance.

Well it's been two full preseasons since Kap has led us on a single touchdown drive. The last touchdown drive he led was the last preseason game of 2013 against the Chargers. since then it's been nothing but punts, turnover on downs or field goals. How a starting QB can't get us into the endzone one G-d Damn time during a preseason game is beyond me. Maybe it'll finally change this preseason.

People want to talk and say that Kap's struggles started last year but they really started in the preseason of 2014. He did good in the first of that same season but trailed off dramatically in the 2nd half of the season and hasn't looked good since.

Well it doesn't help that the coaching staff up until this point barely let him play during the preseason. He only had a handful of passing plays in each preseason game. I do admit the fact this competition might be the best thing that happened to Kap, if it forces him to start playing hungry.

Two different times in that span he played a full half to get ready for the regular season. Still nothing.

Colin Kaepernick came out to the practice field a while ago after the other QBs. He received the loudest cheers from the fans here at Kezar.

Most want to see Kap get back on top again.

It's because we saw what he was capable of when he played at a high level. If the locker room welcomes him back as a starter, I'll do the same. But he still has a lot of image repairing to do.

I have to agree. When he was on, he was incredible.

Cam newton seems to be getting some praise from the media when brought up, add to the fact he was last seasons mvp. That being said, I believe kap is a better QB than Cam. Cam played bad in the SB and looked like he gave up a little, kap gave everything he had until the very final moments of his SB.

How many passing plays though? Bet you it was, run-run-pass, fourth down. And all 3 plays were vanilla, as if our s**tty playbook wasn't vanilla enough, those preseason plays were straight doo-doo.

LOL. The offense was run just like it would be during the regular season. Just accept the fact that Kap has been bad the last 2 preseasons.

Yep.
From the sound of today's tweets, it seems like neither should start.

Though - this was the report in 2007 - the offense looked out of time and the defense looked like the 85 bears.....then we were just bad.....like...bad......like.....
