Kap has leverage, I doubt he will miraclously be cleared by April Fools Day. Would the team just cut him rather than pay? No team is stupid enough to trade for him with that contract. Kap was dissed by the organization, he should sit tight and take the money and run. He signed a team friendly contract so the team could sign more talent and they didn't go along. It's all business.

what i dont get is, what is Kap's connection to the Jets? Doesnt make sense. He has no former coaches over there or any obvious friends there in NY

Agreed. This is oddly specific to me. Not only does he want a trade but wants to go to a specific team? Not saying it cant be true but it seems really specific and he has no ties to NYJ.

Either way, it works out for us. If we trade him to a buyer that wants him we'll prob get a pretty good deal. If not, he'll have a chance to compete to start in the only offense left in the NFL that he might excel in. Win win so we'll see.

Here's something for you to ponder ... connections, one way or the other, might not be his main concern.
Kap, has been in the league long enough to be aware of a few things:

  • Jets won 10 games last season
  • he see himself, as a better option than what's currently available in NY at the moment
  • a Todd Bowles team, will be strong on the Defensive side of the ball
  • they have a decent run game
  • why not the the NY Metropolitan area ... a totally different animal than The Bay. If you're gonna' start over, think Big (as in Apple)
  • which brings me to this ... IMO, Kap, has some of that Post Career -- while still in The Game -- VD kinda' expand My Brand thing going on.

Not Hatin' on him for it ... just trying to think a few reasons, as to why NY/NJ of all places???
Several posters have mentioned how the Media would eat him alive ... it's NOTHING compared to what The FANS will do, if he doesn't produce !!!
Denver would be a better fit since Manning is on his way out

That's not what made his contract team friendly. His cap hit is close to $20 million per year for the remainder of his deal. The contract is considered team friendly since it's very easy to cut Kaepernick if he doesn't work out because he doesn't have a lot of guaranteed money in the deal. He was betting on himself and getting as much money as he could per year without locking up a lot of guaranteed money. We now have a very high incentive to cut him, but may be unable to if he's still hurt on April 1. There's no incentive for him to renegotiate his deal and take less money. No hard feelings from me for any player that chooses to maximize their earnings.
Why would he wanna go to NYJ when we have Chip Kelly here? Literally the ONLY HC who could possibly turn his career around. Makes no sense.

If true, then oh well, cya.

Remember when trade rumors of Kap first began. Something is going on and definitely someone is not happy.

Meh. If he's really that mad, let him go to the Jets, take whatever you can get back and see him fold under the pressure and relentless media attention.

Cutting or trading Kaepernick would mean that the 49ers are far more likely to draft a guy like Goff or Wentz. I have no problem with that.

Its not even close to a stupid contract lol...it's a year to year deal with zero guarantee money after April every year. They would most likely be paying Fitz close to the same amount of cash if they resigned him as Kap this year.

We have no idea if Kap "dissed" SF there is no truth behind this just sources. Oh an they can't cut him if his injured but they can trade him.

Exactly how I feel.. If he really wants to leave bc they have a good defense and run game like some people have guessed then he can bounce. I dont want him if he has to have an elite D to compete.

Kelly is his last best chance. If thats not good enough then adios brochacho.

Good. See ya later.

He is nothing more than Kordell Stewart.
