Its the very tiny few that are just kap homers that im referring to in that tiny bit of post. And im definitly not of any insightful crowd. I try to go to the games as often as i can, So I can only go off of what I see/read/hear. And then that reflects onto my own personal opinion and what I believe is best for the 49ers.

I personally just have seen people recognize kap alot more than our defense/run game as being the reason as why we were so dominant in 2012-2013. but if you add in 2011, i think it just shows where the true recognition lies, and thats with our D and run game. I thought of Sanchez and honestly felt like it was a great comparison, i even had him on a couple of my dynasty fantasy leagues so i followed him closely and the situation he was in reminds me alot of kap in 2012-2013.

Yeah, my biggest reason for being OK going away from Kaepernick is I'm not sure he could ever be a great WCO QB and I'd like to see them go back to the good old days!

I still think the most pivotal moment for kap happened prior to the 2013 season. When Crabs tore his achillies kap lost his #1 and as a team we lost what should have been a really f**king good pair of WR. I get that neither Crabs or Boldin are an X so we was still missing that, but crabs for the first time in his career looked like a legit #1 and was justifying his top 10 pick. This would have allowed Boldin to play more of a slot type WR role which is what he excelled at in zona.

The result was we struggled with offense for the first 11 games of '13 (308 ypg), but as soon as Crabs got back even in his limited post achillies state our offense play at much better level (360ish ypg). I just think that 2013 team coulda been a 14-2 type team and I think kap with a fully healthy Crabs coulda had like a 61-62% 3600ish 25 or so TD and even at his worst he was never a high int guy. I just think the narrative around kap changes if he has this type is season. Who knows, 14-2 would got us homefield maybe we beat Seattle and win a title. Just so close to being ultra special. It's so painful how quick it all fell a part.

You got that backwards. He beat those teams with his legs and sometimes his passing. During the 2012 playoffs, in three games we rushed for 654 yards. Hardly "no" running game. Gore averaged over 100 yards in each of them. In 2013, over three games we rushed for 454 yards, again, not chump change. We didn't average even 200 yards a game passing. Over those six playoff games Kap rushed for 507 yards.

Amazing how one injury can have such an impact on a team, and yet teams like NE seem to be able to put a guy off the street in and they win a SB! Go figure!

I'm disappointed for Kaepernick because the team has a decent five WRs now and a very good RB but they just had the wheels fall off with too many personnel losses--so far:

  • Kilgore
  • Davis
  • Hyde
  • Boldin
  • Simpson (suspended) but he's back
  • Bush
  • Davis, RB

It's been a similar year to last year with all the injuries, but this year it's been injuries and retirements. So the team was set up to be a strong team and the owner and HC decided they didn't want to share the sand box! Just sad! I don't wish Jed ill but I do hope some good angel convinces him to sell the team to an adult...any billionaire should do better.

Damn, the new guy owning the veteran. Touche!
yall see that post of Cam Newton compared to Kap? Think it had kaps passing % better, more yards, less INT's (and touchdowns) and better QBR. but 15 more sacks

If you're simple minded it would seem that way. Now instead of lumping a ton of numbers together, let's add context.

Colin has rushed 507 yds in 6 playoff games. Add context: he rushed for 409 of those yards in 3 games and only had 98 in the other 3 combined. So yes, some games with arm, some with legs.

Afrikan mentioned a bad defense. Dea failed miserably and didn't acknowledge how bad our 2012 playoff defense was. He makes mention of the offense clicking, but forgets that CK had games of 444 yards 4 TDs and 364 yds 2 TDs. In other words Colin was the driving force behind that offense, and he didn't need a good defense to do that.

Afrikan makes mention of no run game. Dea once again fails miserably by lumping numbers together, instead of putting those numbers in context and looking at the 2013 playoff run game. 454 may look good on paper.....but add context and you see it was all Kap carrying the offense. Kap had 243 rushing yards in those 3 games while Gore only had 164. So without Kap carrying the squad like he always did for us come playoff time, Afrikan is absolutely correct, there was no run game.

Back to the ultimate point: yes Colin had to do much more for his wins in the playoffs than Sanchez. We always had a unit missing, defense (2012) run game (2013) but the QB was always ready to go and he was our best player in the games we lost, and there's really no argument. We saw how close he had it in seattle and we saw what that seattle defense did to Manning and Brees. We saw him outperform Brady and Manning vs that Balt defense. Kap had us in a better posintion to win vs those defenses than HOF QBs. Unfortunately Gore didn't show up in Seattle (13 yards), and D/ST didn't show up in SB (34 points) but thankfully we had Colin to keep our team respectable, right?

How dare you respond with logic. Context? Context does not belong in this discussion.
Kaep got carried in the playoffs guys.

2013 Green Bay - Defense gave up 24 pts
2013 Green Bay - Defense gave up 24 pts
2013 Ravens - Deense gave up 34 pts - Keep in mind early in that game Lamichael James fumble. If people still complain about Kyle Williams' fumble, how is LMGJ exempt?

2014 Green Bay - Defense gave up 20 pts
2014 Carolina - Defense gave up 10 pts AHA! There you go!
2014 Seattle - Defense gave up 23 pts. Kaep was the only player on O that showed up.

All this talk about Sanchez is funny too. He did not play well and he also never won a game where his D gave up more than 21 points. And that was just 1 game. The rest of his wins, the D gave up no more than 16 points.

It's one thing to not like Kaep and say he isn't playing well now. That's fine. But the blatant lies being thrown around here are embarrassing. Kaep's poor play lately speaks for itself, there's no need to lie and rewrite the past to get your "point" across.

Blaine Gabbert is the popular guy now, but he too will face the same BS if he is starting here next year and has anywhere near the success Kaep did. His following will turn on him in the same fashion.
